what does everyone think about the tacoma baracade HD rear bumper?

thinking about getting this rear bumper. Id like to see what other people think about this bumper

Not a fan. Looks like it hangs lower than stocks and has random cut outs for no reason.

I like simple clean designs. Granted mine is high clearance, but ATH makes a regular clearance version of my bumper.

 

I would have to see a picture of it to give you my opinion.....

Does it support BMS?

 

Backup sensors and BSM.. blind spot monitoring are two different things and this bumper does NOT support BSM...
Too bad as I’m definitely wanting to keep my BSM but nobody wants to make one.

 

I thinks it’s pretty good for the price. Come with the LED’s as well

 

Damn that bumper is ugly AF!

I think aftermarket companies are too scared to make a bumper that supports BSM due to liability if it screws up. Cant blame them, its hard to make a heavy duty bumper that a sensor can "see through".

 

Get the bumper and ditch the BSM sensors. Been watching my blind spots without issue for 30 years. That's why they installed mirrors and that's why our necks were made to turn and our eyes to role sideways. BSM is over RATED.

Maybe for you it’s not worth it and I’ve always thought the same as you but now that I’ve had it for some time I can’t tell you how many times it kept me from getting hit backing out of parking spots or seeing pedestrians that I didn’t see because well they were in my blind spot
so for me in my experience and driving location it’s something I don’t want to lose.
Believe me I thought about it a lot because I have a sweet custom front bumper and have been looking at some very nice rear bumpers but in the end I want to keep my BSM. I’m sure there’s a lot of liability but it seems with all innovative people building these excellent products someone could solve the problem and let us have it all, good looks, strength and BSM.

 

I’d go tjm if you want something in stock and easy to install. Those eBay bumper are junk, hell we ripped a shackle Mount off of a road armor a while back... turns out it was only surface mounted, junk.

 

Agree. It looks big for no reason. I went RCI and I really like it.
