Accessories to a bumper don't take as long as a bumper to produce...it's not surprising that some things are made quicker than others. It'd suck if you needed to wait 10 weeks for something like a hi lift mount.

SSO has a ton of visibility to the status of your order....way more than most fabricators.

I get that but I’d like a reasonably accurate idea of when I can expect whatever it is I’m buying so I can plan accordingly or decide to move on if the wait is longer than I’d like.

But like I said, that’s just me. I really like this design but uncertain delivery dates and extended waits as folks are reporting turn me off. It’s a shame cause it’s a really nice design, but that’s what is making look elsewhere. Others who may not be in as a big a hurry won’t be bothered. That’s life...

Accessories such as the Stage 2s were produced faster than the bumpers due to the fact that we don't/can't sit on tons of metal/faces while waiting for orders to be placed. So we order the metal weekly for the orders placed. For the Stage 2s were were able to order the metal for 35 sets and then hired and assigned a new welder to just work on Stage 2s. We are trying to not put more the workload for the welders who are fabricating slimline bumpers.

    Nice!
When we ordered the stage 2s there was a note that said 6-8 week production time....I think people ignored it because they assumed the pieces were ready to go. SSO has been very upfront with all the expected wait times and has even beat them. My stage 2 is out for delivery today... approximately 4.5 weeks later. Anyone complaining about wait times needs to take a chill pill. They are cranking out parts and even gave us a Domino's Pizza style tracker.

I’m not complaining. I have nothing to complain about since I haven’t even ordered one. I’m merely stating the fact that I’d like one of these but people posting of the uncertainty of the delivery times makes me a bit nervous and made think twice. If you’re happy with your purchase and experience I’m happy for you.

Sorry, the chill pill comment wasn't directed at you even though I quoted your post. It was more of an extended rant.

I'm sure I don't speak for everyone, but I think the general feeling of this thread is: " this is an awesome bumper design, we can't wait to get our hands on it!"

I for one appreciate the feedback and transparency that @SouthernStyleOffRoad provides through its site and on this forum. Then again, I'm pretty patient and I just placed my order a week ago. Maybe I'll sing a different tune a few months from now. lol.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this bumper on some of our members' rides!

@SouthernStyleOffRoad, first of all great work! In my opinion this is the best looking bumper on the market. I know your current focus is on filling the slimline and SL stage 2 orders right now. But are you guys still planning to make this available as a one piece bumper eventually? If so, any idea when?

Thank you, we are still one of the companies that fabricates by hand and take great pride in our work which can make the lead times slightly longer. The Stage 2 and Tacoma slimline bumper will probably end up as one piece but it won't be this year. We like that it is an option that can be added to the Slimline bumper.

Based on this feed, it seems that everyone has had a different experience. I think there was some initial mis-communication on the release of the Stage 2's because during checkout, they were advertised as "in stock" which everyone interpreted differently. In stock clearly still meant that there would be a lead time. It seems that those lead times were posted after their initial release.

At a 4.5 week lead time, I assumed you ordered on May 31st as well when they offered free shipping?

If so, I am curious... because i did as well and I am being told that mine are still several weeks out. I work for an American manufacturer and greatly appreciate American made products, which is why I chose these guys.

Not bitching at all.. just trying to better understand as mine has been in the welding station for some time now and is likely a few more weeks out after Final Fab, QC and powder.

Yes I ordered on May 31st however I was one of the first to order. I got up early that day and it said there were like 34 left. SSO said there were 35 available in that run. I'd put money on a bet that you will get it within the 6-8 week estimate.

Some people have never ordered hand fabricated products before, and it shows.

So can anyone tell me definitively or at least more or less with some degree of accuracy, let’s say I was to order one (powder coated) today, how long would I expect to wait before the thing was on my doorstep? I’m talking bumper and stage 2 “wings”.

trust me, I work in sales and customer service and our products have a 12-14 week lead time and that is with an average sale price of $4,900...

That's why, in my previous post, mentioned transparency from the beginning is important so that expectations can be set accordingly.

Got mine back from powder coating earlier than expected. Not sure if I can get them installed this weekend, but I'm gonna try!

We fabricate in numerical order, and the stage 2s (for our 4runners) are shipping within 6-8 weeks from date of order. We have a welder designated for accessories as to not add to the work load of the bumper welders.
