If you get the National Geographic channel be sure and check out this doc on Katrina............what they have done is gathered hours of footage from people who stayed behind and edited it all together.......unreal!

One part that really stuck out to me was the lady who called 911 and admitted she was basically wrong to have stayed behind told the operator to tell her family that she loved them....I think her name was Ida.....

Definitely recommend watching this. The documentary was almost entirely people's own footage, with just a tiny bit of narrative.

Almost didn't watch this as I've seen way too much Katrina stuff, but it was definitely worth the time.

Yeah I watched this last night, very good. Plus it wasn't all political and crap like they usually make it.

Some of these people pissed me off, should of got the hell out of there. I understand some people can't, but many more could have.
That whole situation was one big bag of sh!t.

I have no idea, but I would guess it will come on again this weekend. If they have a new show on during the week, they usually play it again during the weekend. It's a two hour show.

Thanks for posting this. I looked it up and it was on fios on demand. I just watched the whole thing front to back and don't think i blinked once. INCREDIBLE footage! Very sad.... they never will recover from that down there.

An EF5 tornado came through my neighborhood once. So i know exactly what it feels like to be helpless to mother natures wrath. Its scary as a MF'r. These types of severe weather phenomena are just incredible.

What did you guys think of the Walmart footage?...........specifically the cop putting dog food in his police cruiser?

I'm not sure what to think of that.....but I don't remember seeing a Police Officer putting dog food into his cruiser. I think I remember an LEO in a truck (maybe a f-150), and he rolled up his window to avoid the reporters question about people stealing food.

I think in a situation like that with limited resources, not a lot you can do. People are hungry/thirsty and need the food/water now. But if they are able to stop them from stealing TV's and other items like that, they should.
Maybe it was a K9 Officer, and he needed food for his dog? Maybe wasn't able to make it back to headquarters.
