Is anyone running Trail Gear's 1" lug centric wheel spacers? I need lug centric cause I have manual hubs. I wanna get my tire off my frame when at full lock, but also don't want too wide of a stance.

Anyone know if 1" would be enough to do so with 285/75r16 MT tires on a SCS F5 0mm offset wheel?

With the 1" do I have to worry about my factory studs being too long to mount up properly? The guy from All Pro said I might have to cut them down shorter to make them work.

Also, should I be concerned with the strength difference between a lug centric vs hub centric spacer (assuming both have been mounted properly and torqued to spec)?

My studs were just shy of flush with 1.25" spacers so you'd have to cut with 1".

Might run Bora's in the rear after I figure out the front. But my issue is needing lug centric since I have manual hubs.

Makes me wonder about the stud length though

I hear the rear studs are longer for some reason, but thats just what I read here. I never had spacers on the rears, just fronts. But I decided to get properly spec'd wheels so I took them off after a few months. Running spacers always left me with an uneasy feeling.

Also be prepared to have to jump through hoops anytime you want your truck serviced. No shops local to me would so much as spit on my truck with wheel spacers installed. Anytime I wanted a rotation, or a flat fixed, etc it was a no-go. Also, Bora said using an impact gun on their stuff voided the warranty. So I always had to tell the grease monkey that he needed to hand tighten only. (I had 1 shop that would do it after some begging)

Yea I wish I would have waited for the -38mm F5's to come back in stock, because the 0mm F5's I got make my 285/75 rub on the frame on the passenger side since it puts them closer to the frame.
I've never been a huge fan of wheel spacers either, but there are so many people on the forums that run them who wheel their rigs hard. It'll also hopefully help get my tire away from my coilover reservoir.

Good to know about the shops not working on them. I'll keep that in mind wherever I end up going.

@Blue92 out of curiosity, what tire size and rim offset/BS did you have when you were running the 1" spacers up front?

Stock 3rd gen alloys on 265-70-16 tires. It sat real close to the Ubj without them (like couldnt get a fingernail in between there), yet somehow didnt rub. Just looked goofy sitting in so far.

    Ian,

You might want to consider selling the 4.5" bs F5 and run the 3.5" size option. This way you don't have to worry about spacers. The deep dish of the 3.5" bs also looks more aggressive. This will prevent the tires from rubbing on the frame at full lock, but you'll probably have to flatten the pinch welds down.

    Thanks for chiming in!

I've been debating going that route as well. That would be the proper way to do it and my proffered route. I've already taken a BFH to the pinch welds too.

Although I don't know when the matte jet black 3.5" BS F5's will be back in stock so I don't have many options for now. They sell out like hot cakes

You will have to cut front lug studs if using less than a 1.25" spacer. The rear is fine you can run 1". Also I recommend Bora if you go the spacer router. The best option is to get better wheels and or increase lift.

    @SCSPerformance
Any rough time estimate on when the next batch of f5 stock will be back?
