I am sure you already know, but I am also down for the larger pulley.

I am sure @White lightning boosted is also down. Tagging you so you hopefully see this.

Not against it, Im still kinda subbed for pricing. I have a stock tensioner currently so I have to factor that in

Yeah we are still a ways from getting pricing, though truthfully speaking here I couldn't see a nice well made unit costing much more than $400, that is on the expensive end for a pulley though and I really doubt it would cost that much. Especially for 10 of us. I'll update your name on the OP.

I mean if we are staying 5 rib then yeah larger. Need the tensioner and maybe some NST pulleys even though Im wary of them

The only requirement which will be necessary will be a tensioner upgrade to a beefed up Roush or Thump version along with the 50mm double roller in order to run a larger blower crank pulley. There will be no necessary idler pulley swap outs to smaller NSTs required. We have no choice but to stay 5 rib after investigating all of the trouble which a 6 rib would be beneficial to us because the larger the crank pulley the more effective the belt wrap so there is less belt slippage. Some boost pick up will be the byproduct of this mod on top of a faster overall revving engine. So it would likely be the equal of dropping from a 3.0 to a 2.85 at the supercharger without ever having to touch the upper Qwickchange.

Not sure. Not against it, just thinking about how far I want to take this blower addition.

I was thinking about not going too crazy...

Absolutely. I get it man. Of course the immediate benefit to this would be increased belt wrap which equals less belt slippage under boost. The blower by design robs power in order to make it, so this would help, but would require the tensioner upgrade for sure to run it.

Definitely not opposed to a tensioner upgrade. Less slippage is a good thing, too. ;)

Sweet! I'll update your name on page 1. For resources on a tensioner upgrade make sure you visit the massive supercharger thread.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
I can’t believe you MFers were going to try and non-slip this by me. Hell yeah I am in for an oversized SC crank pulley. I already have the Rousch tensioner but would need the 50mm idler.

Late to the party lol. Why is the upgraded tensioner needed? I’m interested in bigger pulley.

Interested is a pulley upgrade as well. Aside from needing to upgrade Tensioner. what else will I be needing to make this whole setup work? As @Scott B. mentioned, I’m not looking to go crazy with the supercharger as well.

I understand it is due to the increase in belt tension from less rotational mass and quicker revving. The stock tensioner doesn’t have the best track record. I think there may be some clearance issues as well requiring the 50mm idler to an aftermarket tensioner

I think the upgraded tensioner is needed because of how close that pulley is to the crank pulley but I could be wrong.

Where did all these people come out of, the woodworks? This has been a thing for a while here. Lol. As of right now it is a feeler, so I will add your name, we are waiting to make some headway on the CAD designs of the supercharger crank pulley. Then we can begin introducing a new design all together which will further lighten its weight. I have already sent up @XPOTRPR a few designs of what I have in mind, but we are sort of in the waiting process. No prices yet, just waiting for some solid accurate measurements to be taken on top of CAD drawings of the pulley.

The idler is easy to get. Go get it anyways, a double roller on this blower is awesome in the setup!

Because of the fact that it is a tight fit in there. An upgraded tensioner would allow flexibility in idler sizes and since I am already successfully running a 50mm (1.969") sized double roller pulley we now know we have some room to play around in there a little bit, as the OE sized one is 54.58mm (2.148") which makes my pulley size approximately .179" smaller over the OE size. We now have .179" to enlarge to crank pulley over the original OE size to make up for that size difference.

Nothing except the tensioner and the 50mm double bearing roller pulley.

This new supercharger crank pulley will not be much larger than OE. It is already tight in there so we will take what we can, but realistically the size increase is to be about .100 larger than the current size, which will increase blower RPM by about 240-250 RPM. I am expecting a bump of around 1-1.5 psi just by doing so.. so if you have an OE 3.0 it would be around the equal to having a 2.85.

I thought it was just a lighter pulley. At the beginning and wasn’t that interested and then saw stuff about the larger pulley.

Just looked and I didn’t realize the nst pulleys were so cheap. All 3 or just crank and water?

Only recently did we talk about getting a larger pulley fabricated, but it can and has every possible chance to get larger. Not by much, but enough to give a bump in boost and in performance now as well.

I don't know. It depends what option you go for. Their crank pulley is a steal for pricing. Of course by replacing that you are only solving 50% of the cranks weight equation. I currently sit at 50% myself. Lol.

70 oz vs 14oz is pretty good. Who knows what the s/c weighs
