The manual says to run 4wd once month to lube the system and then in another place it says only on wet or snowy roads so the tires slip a bit. Well it is 90F and dry, which is it? First time owner of a 4wd truck.

Basically a straight line is best when dry.

Struggling with this as well. I work and live in the city of Nashville. I've just been scouting straight road near me to flip on 4HI. I'll hopefully find some good roads when I go out shooting this year.

Find a local soccer field, high school track, sneak through the Zamboni service door at the local ice rink...lots of options

But for real OP, just find a local fire road or dirt trail, or if you have to you can use the street just make sure you keep the truck going straight.

99% of the roads here are straight for a mile or two. I click it in when I remember. It's always dry when I think about it.

I do live 1/2 a mile from the Zamboni door but it might be a little rough on the box lacrosse players. I guess I'll have to wait for a rainy day and a 10 mile stretch of straight rode.

Dood, just take baseline to the snye. When it turns to gravel drop in 4wd. Or, any of the gravel roads north of the burg. I prefer the dirt roads anyhow, less radar traps

Geez just go out it in 4wd and avoid real sharp parking lot turns. There should be no struggle. It's not hard like Chinese Algebra.

Front wheels will bind up....best case scenario the truck comes to a stop. More problematic case, you blow a CV axle. Worst case, you damage something more expensive (front diff, t-case, etc.)

Gravel parking lot or a long straight neighborhood road is what I use. You can turn/weave, just no sharp turns.

Just do a few miles on a straight stretch of highway in dry conditions if you have no other choices. Don’t worry about the ten miles so much. Cracks me up how some people here get their panties all bunched up because some questions come up frequently. When they take time to respond with a complaint you just know their empty little lives must have very little satisfaction :playball:
