Over 500 miles. I thought it had to do with the recall for the front radar sensor (water-proofing) but when I got there I found out that my truck has the updated sensor and does not need sealing. I was bummed because it had rained A LOT just before it happened the first two times and figured that water had gotten in there. It has to be either the throttle valve assembly or the throttle pedal position sensor (TPPS). Not much faith in Toyota reliability any more. WTF was wrong with a throttle cable and a TPS??

Mine comes on about once or twice a month and goes away usually within five minutes or so on its own.

The dealer could not duplicate the problem of course and they put 100 miles on it. They say they need freeze frame data when it happens before they will replace a part. Total BS. Since shitting the bed on the way home from the dealer, it happened 2 more times since I've had it back. I now have about 800 miles with the ovtune and have had 5 malfunctions. I have about 600 miles on the stock tune with zero faults. Matt says his team is looking into this for the 19's running the tune but for now, I'm staying stock.

That's interesting. I've never had a fault on the stock tune. Sounds like something is broke on our trucks! Throttle valve or pedal position sensor......Toyota reliability POOF gone....

Roughly 2months ago had the throttle body replaced under warranty due to this exact error on my 2019 TRD OffRoad. Fast forward to present day, just had this error happen again to me while on a two lane highway with a tractor trailer on my tail. Beyond scary shit man, complete dead throttle and could barely get to the side of the road safely. Turned off truck, turned back on and was able to make it home. Calling Toyota first thing Monday AM!

Thanks bud, yeah it was gnarly as there was no real shoulder to pull over on.

Ive been running 87 base now for a total of just under 6k miles. That time frame includes when the throttle body was replaced. The total mileage on the truck we are at 6562.

Just pulled the Techstream data off and will post later this evening.

So another person with a tune having issues? Are we still pointing to the tune being the issue? How many people without a tune vs with tune have this issue? I only had this issue once and it hasn't returned. Scary to think about though.

For me, it has never happened on the stock tune. It appears that late production date 2019's may have something going on as Mat has stated and his team has been looking into it.
I have noticed that whenever it happens, it is at light throttle pressure and low revs. And luckily for me, not at highway speeds!

Looking forward to what you might find. I gotta learn how to do this Techstream stuff. Off to the the search bar...
How many faults have you had in those 6500 miles?

I was at first saying it couldn’t be the tune, but after having a part replaced and it happening again within about 3k miles on 87 Base, I think my mind has opened up to something else going on. Especially after the first time it happened, pre Techstream, it reset itself by the morning.

Lucky you, the second time it happened to me I was excelerating to enter the highway and BAM, dead pedal and barely got off on the very next exit.

I’ve had a total of 3 faults. 2x before the throttle body swap, and today’s 3rd roughly 2-3k miles after. Let’s see how it looks in the am when I turn on the truck. My theory just from past experience is the check engine light & trac control lights will no longer be illuminated. Only time will tell.

I have a 2000 mile round trip to Iowa this November and that time of the year can be really nasty up there. I'm worried and wondering if I should remove my tune before the haul. I'm keeping my fingers crossed we can get a handle on this.

Personally I would flash back to stock for that situation just to be safe. It is possible that EROM 2.0 might be released before your trip I suppose and that build may address this issue since Mat is aware of it.
What are the production dates and assembly points for y'alls trucks? Mine is 03/19 assembled in Mexico. 04B31 ecu. (I also notice all of our trucks are the same color!!)

    Mine is 1/19
I will probably flash back to original, but I haven't had the issue for 1000 miles and only once. I am running the 87 base tune.

54351DC6-CE68-47CE-9A75-F8A4E2905F26.jpg As I presumed when turning on the truck this morning both the Trac Control and Check Engine lights are no longer illuminated.

Here is a screen shot when I was safely pulled to the side of the road after the insident happened.

My trucks build date is 12/18 in Mexico w/ 04B31 ECU.

It happened to me again a few days ago turning into a driveway. It had not done that in a few months.
