I’m 73 and had a 2016 Tacoma SR5 and now own a 2019 TRD sport. Bought my first Toyota pickup in 1977 at 31 and have owned more than a dozen. I think they appeal to all ages.

+1. The first 4-5 minuets of his Dodge Demon review is a must-see.

On the contrary. Ford's EcoBoost engines have internals that can withstand all that extra work delivering 310 foot-pounds of torque at a relatively low 3000 RPM on the Ranger. In fact, the same engine I used in the 300HP Mustang and can be tuned to 350HP easily.

The turbo EcoBoost is in over a half million Ford trucks since 2011. I am sure if there was a major issue with the engine it would not be in the best selling truck in the world. Bad complaints travel fast and in numbers....One of the most common turbo myths is that running boost will damage your engine over time. ... However, a properly implemented turbo pushing enough PSI through a motor to produce respectable levels of power won't strain a motor any more than idling in traffic will.

Lol the first iteration of the 3.5 is known for its extremely dangerous sudden loss of power issue that Ford was never able to fix.

I'll most likely be buying a 2020 DCSB OR once they hit dealer lots later on in the year. zr2 Colorado and fx4 ranger would be on my short list as well but I can't get over their styling (inside and out). The GM interiors are especially hideous. I can tolerate a slower truck, but the same can't be said for an ugly one. I really wanted to like the ranger since I'm a big fan of its powertrain.

Oddly, if i were to seriously cross shop the Toyota with a Ford today, it would be an F150 with the 2.7L ecoboost and not the Ranger. But I have no need for a full-size.

While Toyota will be getting my money this year, i'd seriously consider cross-shopping the brands if Ford and GM ever decide to address the styling. I don't believe in brand loyalty having owned Ford's, Mazda's, Jeeps, BMW's, Infiniti's, Honda's, and Lexus's in my family.

Couldn’t agree more if I didn’t get a Toyota I would be in a f150 100% but our only difference would be I want the 5.0 because I love how the 5.0 sounds with a nice exhaust kit. But I had no need for a full size and with my job (butcher) I am constantly traveling to the city and always in parking lots so very nice to have a less wide truck so I don’t get as many dings.

They pipe the fake sound of the V8 into both of the EBs through the stereo system. So, ironically, you get the V8 sound no matter which engine you choose with the F150.

Love the 5.0 and the sound alone is worth the premium. I'm also trying to get back into a Mustang GT so I figured i'd get my v8 fix in that way :D

Oh man the mustang GT are beautiful! If you haven’t heard the exhaust clips from the new gt500 I recommend the ear-gasim but even just a 5.0 mustang I know everyone has there preference but that is my favourite exhaust not on the planet! Throaty!!

Agreed! I love the S/C whine on those! They look amazing! I really like the track hawk Jeep! Those are machines. But as far as dodge goes not the most powerful but SRT10 viper really tickles me just right always has since I was a grasshopper!

If I were to get an F-150 it would definitely be with a 5.0.

Some seem to forget that Tacoma didn't get the #1 position until Ranger was taken off the market.

That’s not actually true, the Tacoma started outselling the Ranger around 2005.
