Have you seen or recall ANY threads on TW with the 20+ year old Taco's needing new mounts?
i will do preliminary search before new topic started

i don't seem to have a clue how to check them

 

I could swing the idea, but it would be no more than a 4 year loan, which is starting to be super uncommon anyways.

 

Not many recalls on these trucks besides I believe the seatbelt on some years.

Yeah, all of my "dream" cars that I had growing up are falling into a more feasible price range too.

 

I'd change them anyway at this mileage. The rubber is nearing 20 years old.

 

Were the LBJ's recalled? I didn't know. 2nd gens had the leaf recall.

 

We had the spare tire hoist recall for the crusty states. And some of the later years had lbj's recalled.

 

Oh that's right, the spare carrier.

they always inspect everything i think

 

Haven’t seen many Tacoma motor mount issues. Have you checked heat shields on the exhaust?

I have MT not AT, this info I found from several years ago there is a difference with idle in park
i have no park to idle in!

 

i found an old topic thread from several years ago that has near identical issues driving me crazy for few months!
but somewhere it says something about service bulletin and the ECU

They wear out, they aren’t hard to look at though.

 

Because it theoretically does not need it. Preventative maintenance is all.
