the original hood swap thread for 2nd gen tacos has been removed apparently, so I was recommended to start a new one.

    I'll kick it off -

    2015 Magnetic Gray flat hood
    ISO magnetic gray Sport/scooped hood

Will add cash. I'm in upstate NY but can travel a couple hours.

2007 silver streak non scooped, looking for any color scooped hood.

I'll toss in a few cans of your choice color rattle can.

Groton CT, Sanford ME. Will travel within 100 miles of either of those places

Good luck to all of you. That is one of the reasons I love the way mine looks. Everyone comments on it too.

Toyota should have put that on ALL the tacoma's IMO. It just looks cool.

The scoop doesn’t dump into the air box. It’s purely cosmetic. That said, I agree it looks cool.

I forget where I read it, but it was on here somewhere and the scoop is in a low pressure/airflow area of the hood, so it doesn't do much. I did see one guy hook up a hose to it and attach it to the airbox, but I'm not sure if it helped any

holy crap youre right. i was very tired last night and found a aftermarket one that dumps on the airbox and foolishly assumed it was modeled after the oem. Edited original post.

Please link this functional one haha. Maybe it'll be cheaper than a hood plus the inserts

I think theres a decent number who have, but with cash added. Not very many stories on an even swap.

Not true. Please see dyno chart on my Tacoma performed by an unnamed high performance shop located somewhere in the midwest on scoop(my engine#2) vs non scoop(eng#1) :

Oh yeah I figured that was a given, I thought even then it wouldn’t be super common but I guess it’s an easy way to make a little cash if you don’t care about the scoop.

Lol pop your hood and show me the ducting that routes air into the intake. You may have something aftermarket and that’s great. What I said it doesn’t do that from the factory.
