I had thought things looked a little off, so I did the string thing someone posted on here & here are the results. I did the center bearing 5? years ago. That was the last time the drive shaft was down. Oddnesses is that I had little to no vibration until I got my tires rotated in February. Not sure what that would have to do with anything, just thought it worth mentioning.
What could be the cause(s)? Or is it a matter of a work around? I used an angle meter where the u joint inserts into the yoke & front is 11, middle is 2 & rear is 3.

A bit of a better view of said issue. & apologies. I should have stated that the marks were put on a week ago, so pay no attention to the ones on the transfer casel.

Still not sure what you are trying to show. I don't see anything off but camera angle could be masking something.
Diagram here might be some help. You have the "3 joint type" at the bottom.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/proper-drive-shaft-phase-double-cardan.418452/#post-20959013

If the other end of the string in your last (4th) pic is lined up with u-joint caps on the double cardan assembly like the 2nd pic, your flange at the support (center) bearing may be off by one spline. Or the shaft is twisted.
Old tire vibes/position may have masked what you feel now, if anything.

Thank you. I couldn't get a pic of the whole front shaft. I am getting vibration. Weird thing is this out of phase must'a happened 4 years ago since that was the last time the drive shaft was down. So fast forward to my getting tires earlier this year. Everything was fine. Then I went to get them rotated & I've been chasing a vibe ever since....

    Thank you....

How was the wear pattern on the front tires when you moved them to the back? Was the tread pattern even? The rear tires may have a nice flat tread on them and now that they are in the front you may actually be experience a corner scrub if your alignment is off feeling like a vibration. May be the case if you feel the vibration making its way up the steering wheel.

They were brand new. & that was a mess cuz 3 trips back to have them balanced & finding two out of round & then switching me to Coopers. Back to balance again & that time they road force balanced them. They seemed better. Not perfect, but there were other issues that would contribute. My brakes were acting up so three brake jobs later (never buy adavanced calipers), which were causing some braking shuddering. My belts were way overdue, so did them. Then valve cover gaskets, which have nothing to do with vibration, just going through the list for this year. Things seemed ok & then little by little the vibe has progressed. & I wouldn't say it's through the steering wheel. I had an alignment two weeks ago & it actually seemed to make it worse.

Haven't been able to get the darn bolts off the drive shaft yet. Just got my hands on a pipe that'll fit over the wrench I had to buy cuz my regular 14mm wrenches had too much wiggle room & would'a stripped 'em.

kristi, have you had any vibrations under the floor on the driver side while driving?
I just felt one while roadtesting my track at 90mph in 5th gear the other day
most all roads here all total garbage with bumps bumps more bumps
found a real nice freshly paved asphalt on a wide 5 lane river crossing with little traffic so I went over 3k rpm in 5th gear and about 90mps is when it started shaking under my feet, has never ever done this before, I did get new tires six months ago, rotated and rebalanced once

i also have the weird rattles inside the cab at 2.1k rpms (in case you missed the prior post)

WEll that's just the thing. I haven't touched the drive shaft in 4-5 years, so it's been like this or that long & I have not had a vibe all that time. In fact between the center support bearing & the tranny mount I got rid of the tacoma take off shudder. I am pretty darn sure I need u joints & I did a quick check with an angle app on my phone & if I'm correct the drive shaft angles are off, which is what I thought fixed the TTOS, but maybe not.... This whole thing is carazy making :annoyed: But we love our tacomas....

Is it only over 90? The floor one?

My understanding is if you get it to shudder speed & put it in neutral & the shudder remains it could be the driveline or tires. If it stops shuddering when in neutral, check the tranny.

I happened upon these & found them helpful

yes the floor one is only at higher RPMs in 5th gear (i rarely go over 3k rpm in lower gear)

the other ones are seeming to come from behind passenger side dash (glovebox is out to diagnose while driving)
