We bought our 2017 off the lot unplanned when our 2nd gen died. It's been just over a year and a half and we made the last payment a month ago. It's good, but it was a lot of hard work and decisions on every cost.

Not hard to do if you finance the whole thing, that’s $44k at 60 months even with a good rate like 2.9%. Vehicles are expensive now.

33.5k truck plus 8% sales tax for 48 months. I'm a year and a half into it. not my greatest move.

Nah man, I think you're better off than you think, not compared to some of these people (but I'm a bit skeptical with all the "paid in cash" / "$200 payment" prevelance)...but knowing some friends and a good friend who works in sales, most finance 72 months to lower the payment which is always a bonehead move and alot are financed for $700+ at 72 months, he just had a guy buy an SR5 and is at $800 for 72 months, another lady financed a lifted tundra at $1000 a month... You'll be fine, just gotta bite the bullet now, how I did it too, took the lower interest rate and shorter term and just sucked it up buttercup, if anything it will motivate me to pay it off sooner, not to mention interest over life of the loan, yours will be paid off in 4 years, while MANY others will still have 2 more years of payments. Don't beat yourself up listening to the TW financial tycoons. Like anything else on the internet everyone is infaillable.

Man and I thought I was savy with my money. Bit the bullet with a TRD Pro, Ill be 2 yrs into my contract next month. 6yr/3.2% kind of killed myself with the rate at the time. But should have it paid off by the end of the year baring some unforeseen circumstance.

3.2@72months isnt bad by any means given rates have gone up, current Tier 1+ rate w/TFS for 72 months is 5.6% last time I looked (at least for AZ region).

I looked at new car rates the other day and wasn’t happy. My last two used cars I bought at 2.1% for 60 months.

Just thought I was had a bit, Granted I walked away with a 17' Pro with Predator Steps/Decals at $42k which I though was a bargain, so I let them rip me at 3.2% without doing due diligence and that was with a 786 Credit Score if I recall. Just sucks seeing others peoples rate, but idk if thats a locality thing.

Yep hard to adjust to given the last decade of a low rate from the fed.

Locality. For instance my home state’s (IL) region is offering 1.9% @ 60 months right now on Tacoma through TFS. That same promotion here in AZ is 2.9%

Same here 780, tier 1 + but could only get the 2.9@60. Nice being friends with sales guy, got to see their binder with all the tiers and rates.

I could be mistaken on your intent. But if you're sending payments without calling TFS you're still paying interest on those advance payments. If you were truly paying principle your monthly payment would still be occurring. Again I could be mistaken, and your just sending payments to keep it out of sight out of mind.

As for the edit, pretty sure the $204 is just knocking off whatever you paid from the Nov payment. Just from my experience.

Nice but Im imagine if you walk in with a Bank or CU at a lower rate they probably would probably drop it to get you to go through TFS.

I know they have some wiggle room but not by major percentage points. True but just look at CU / bank rates now too, prime rates are still right around 3-4%.

Yeah its an inconvenience and they messed up my principle payments a few times. You can do it online and simply call them (2-3 days after submitting it). Its what I do not sure if you're partial to mailing checks.

Paid cash for the truck. Still owe $20k on my wife's 2017 Suburban, but the financing is 0%.

I just saw an ad on TV: Ford Canada is now offering 0% financing for 60 months on Ford F150 trucks. WTF, I thought the F150 was THE most popular truck in the world so why would it need such an attractive incentive?
