I had a super clean 2000 model that I sold about two months ago. Regret selling it sometimes.

Got back in a Tacoma. I honestly kind of wish I had got a 5th gen 4runner though.

Here is my 98 SR5 beautiful mint with 233k on it. I sold it for $7000 in 3 hours on CL in March. I bought a 2002 limited 4wd with 100k garage kept,a one owner, even nicer than my SR5. Here is both, man I miss my 98 but the limited is so much better than I expected. It sits nice beside my 18 Tacoma. I use my 4runner as a weekend grocery getter, drive it to work a few days a week. Mostly for keeping the miles off my Tacoma and wife's rx350. I added some new 265/75/Toyo open country at2 tires, alignment, fresh oil change and have less than $5500 in it. What a deal I got. It litterly is like a new vehicle.IMG_20190407_091807039_HDR.jpg IMG_20190426_154114053.jpg IMG_20190629_092221935_HDR.jpg

I don't mean any offense, but it seems like a massive waste of time to try and undercut their price by $2.5-$3.5K on a $10k car. That's craigslist status negotiation/low balling. Any dealership is going to laugh when you try and negotiate 30%+ on sticker price.

You always negotiate a higher amount off because that's how haggling works, they're going to immediately make a counter-offer, and then you counter offer and so on. You start below what you want to pay. Even though people talked about non-haggle price or "we don't do that". They always do, it's just part of the game. You never acknowledge that it's a game when you're buying something, and the dealership doesn't acknowledge either but it's all just a game.

His asking price, even for down here, is extremely high. Plus she needed 4k of work. I actually started my offer at 6k, he came down to 8k but would not move any further. So right off the bat he moved 2k (collectively). That wouldn't have happened if I would have started higher.

If I would have said 8k he would have most likely not came down past 9k.
