My Registration and 2020 sticker came yesterday so I put it on the plate and removed the ugly temp plate. EVLKARL plate is now official on the TAcoma. Time to order some Stickers from my old Punk Days and slap them on.:lalala::rockband:

    Happy Independence Day everyone.
I’m off today, but I’ll doing yard work and cleaning the pool for this evening.
So it looks like the truck will get another work out hauling off stuff from the yard.
Might even have to take a nap to be well rested for tonight.
Be safe with the fireworks and use a designated driver. :oldglory:

Have you tried the apple? Just asking because I couldn’t find anything on it but if that works I would be in. Love to avoid a dash kit. Also did you keep all functionality Outside of the nav and songs on the center screen(rear camera, etc.) if so what parts did you need?

I have not tried iphone yet, but here is a video from the company that makes it (about 9 minutes in is the iphone)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBpuuLZGVrQ

All functionality seems to be there, actually ended up with a little more too. But nav in the clusters, compass in the cluster and radio in the cluster are all gone. But that may have more to do with the fact that I am using the settings for a 2013 rav4... I need to find more settings that will decode the canbus better.

You will need a dash kit, but just for the mounting arms from the dash kit. The factory mounting arms fit, but only hold on with a single screw on each side. I ordered this kit, but will only use a little bit of it.
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XYBT88X?ref=ppx_pt2_dt_b_prod_image

Aside from the dash kit for the mounting arms, everything is there, plugs right into the factory harness too.
There are 2 versions of this headunit, one with canbus, one without canbus. I think all tacomas need the canbus version, thats the one I got.

EDIT: one more thing, you can adjust the button lights to preset colors, none of them match the tacomas blue, I ended up just setting them to white.

First official wash and wax for the new Tacoma today. I tried to get a couple shots of my Bartact seat covers but I got some serious lens flare.

Awesome, that is really cool. Thank you for the info, last time I looked aftermarket I was looking at the maestro hook ups to keep everything from stock but pretty sure that stuff was left out too.

I looked at aftermarket for awhile, but never wanted to downgrade the size of my screen from the OEM (aftermarket ones are <7 inches and dont have volume knobs, just buttons). Joying happens to make this one that fits the entune hole in the dash, and has a 9 inch screen, 2 whole inches bigger than OEM.

I will make a video later today to do a quick overview of the headunit.

Im going to order some bluetooth controlled RGB lights to put under the dash and under the seats for mood lighting, I can then control them from the android app with the radio :)

Thanks this is my first Toyota, and my first pick up truck. Previously I had a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder with a ton of issues. What am I spending money on? are you having problems?

Funds have been on the way bottom of the barrel recently. But I was able to get something done in the last few weeks that wasn’t too expensive. Took 2 months to get here:

Can’t believe it was even available
