I've read the numerous threads about coils and still don't have my answer because of all the different setups so I thought I would ask specific about my truck setup.

I currently have OME suspension, nitrochargers and running 881 coils with the 1/2" top spacer. This gave me 3"+ of lift. As some of you have seen, I have added a bumper and winch, combined weight is around 130-140 pounds. The front end naturally took a small dive, about an inch.

882's or 883's and what can I expect to gain? I would like to get the full 3" back.

    Ride quality?

    Not running a swaybar either.

883s are a heavier spring and will support the weight a bit better but probably won't ride quite as well. 882s are slightly taller than the 883 but a bit lighter spring rate so they'll have a little better ride.

I have 882s and prefer them but if you have a plate bumper and heavy winch (some are heavier than others) then I'd probably go with the 883s. If it's a tube bumper and lighter winch, then I'd do 882s.

just looked at your build thread. Your bumper is maybe on the heavier side but the winch looks about as light as you can go with synthetic line etc. If it were me, I'd go with 882s with that setup. But the 883's will work good too.

You don't want to go over 3" max. The 883 would be the best choice. Same length as an 881, but little higher spring rate.

Thanks for the replies. So both springs will yield the same lift with one riding a bit stiffer. Will 883's fully compress without flipping the truck over?:)

Also, will I need that 1/2" top spacer? Or do the springs make the lift on their own?

This has been my dilemma, I was pretty sure either set would work but didn't know how the ride would differ between the two sets.

If I add sliders is there enough forward weight to justify going to 883's and not looking back?

If it was me, I would run the 883s and not the 882s. You can safely run the 883s with your current top-spacer.

bringing this thread back, I'm looking for 2.5-3'' of lift and will be ordering an all pro plate bumper (With a winch eventually) and am not sure if the 883's are what I need.
I will order the suspension soon but not install immediately.

OP, i see that you ordered the 883s at the time of this post but in your vehicle description it says 882s. is this a typo? did you change? if so why? i am currently looking into running an OME front coil setup but i am stuck on what coil (882 or 883) i also plan to add a front plate bumper and winch which'll probably end up weighing an extra 150 lbs or so total. from the description and pics it looks like you're running something similar.

I made the switch to the 882's, they ride better imo and they have better compression.
Somewhere in my build thread there's a pic that shows the difference in how they compress under load.
