Same boat. I love my scout, but there are so many awesome 29ers right now. I'm waiting to see what the next tallboy looks like. The hightower is too much bike for the majority of my riding.

What’s the difference between the 2? Travel amounts right? I haven’t looked up the tallboy

Yes, travel amounts are different. The current tallboy is either 110 or 115 mm travel and the new HT is 140. I'm guessing when they update the tallboy it will be 120 rear travel. It should also be lighter. Some of the stock HT builds are HEAVY.

Amy input on this bike rack? Found it for 100 bucks. It is a thule. I know I will have to remove it to open tailgate, but don't think that should be much of an issue.

I just came from Virginia and trust me man I welcome this 115 temps right now over the humid as fuck 100+. I will eventually sweat here, in VA it’s like I was hidden by a nasty ass hose in 5 min.

Buy it! Looks like a Thule T2, I have previously had one. It tilted down so it might clear your tailgate. That's a killer deal on it also

Looks like a good deal to me. Why would you have to remove it to open the tailgate?

I didn't realize it tilted down. It's actually super nice.

Paging dads! So, like, I'm about to be one of you (bun in the oven y'all!) and am throwing a balance bike on the registry thing but also want to add a trailer to the mix to A. get the wee one out on rides earlier and 2. take her along on longer rides once she *is* using the balance bike. I know it's a ways off, but I figure hell, we can just stash it until the time is right in the case that any of our family/friends are feeling generous, LOL.

    So, the questions....
    1. Is a trailer even worth it, or should I get one of the bolt on seat/handles for her to ride above the top tube or something
    2. Most of the trailers I see (barring the $1500 tout terrain with 8" of travel (LOL, I wish)) bolt on at the rear axle, but look like they only work on small axles, not whatever boost monster thing I have (YT jeffsy), will any of them even fit the current steed?
    3. *If* you're using or have used a bike trailer to tote around a little one, any recommendations or "gotcha" things I should look for?

    Cheers! It's a girl! OMG

Cograts man! Girls are awesome. I used a burley that attached to the hub. Excellent trailer and they make the attachments for through axles like yours. Way better for hauling infants/toddlers on adventures cause you can haul all their sh*t too.

I like the setup my buddy has for his girls. Only one is old enough to pedal now but she “can” if she wants to help dad.

Picked up the 2020 Roscoe 7 for my gf today. Very nice bike! Thanks for the input and suggestions made when previously asked. Definitely made the right choice for her.

8268A16B-16C0-4FCD-BC50-BDE5037B5A8A.jpg New bike day! Picked up a used 2017 Trek Stache 7. This thing was basically brand new! So excited. I was just riding it around the neighborhood and it feels like it’s gonna be a ripper! At least as much as a 29+ bike can be

I'm a track junkie, the Tacoma has been an excellent transport. Was going to do a mild 3in lift, but loading the bike would make it more difficult, so kept her stock. When loaded, truck drives like its not even there, more than happy with it!!!!

Got any pics of your TA? I guess that would be a different thread. I had an ‘81 (last year 2nd gen, with the California-only 305 Chevy and 4 speed combo) that I bought new. Still miss it ... kinda.

Not currently. My phone had a brain fart and wiped It's self and it is currently in the paint shop. I will dig through a couple of old phones to see what I can find though. I sent it to my dad in Mississippi before I left California. I live in Tx right now and it was in a fender bender. I used that tas an excuse to Go ahead and give her a nice paint job.
