If you arent gonna slam your truck around offroad, Id go spacer lift. 2" front with whatever rear youd like, be it blocks or AAL. Kind of wish I went that route, because shipping to my state is really expensive. I know people like the Lowrange Offroad spacer lift to name one of them.

On the other hand, I went bilstein 5100 4th notch with an AAL. Seems to be doing fine for me, doesnt ride too stiff or anything.

How does your truck ride compared to stock? I am ready to put a slightly bigger wheel and tire on mine, not allot bigger. I want to either do 2 inch spacer or 5100 on 4th notch. Can you give me details on what you done and how well you like it compared to stock. I off-road zero. Just want slightly bigger tires.

Bilsteins 5100s on the top setting, 4runner Gray TRD Pro Sema wheels, 285/70/17 Toyo AT3s, Sumo Bump stops, TRD exhaust, ECGS Clamshell bushing, 1/4 shim for the lean and one inch rear block, OEM Pro grill and garnish OEM TRD Skid plate, TRD CAI, Demon Brackets, Rigid Industries Pro fog lights, OEM Trail Rails sidebars, Diode Dynamics LED SL1 high and low beam lights, OEM Roof racks, Clazzio leather heated seats, Remote Start, TRD Pro shift knob, tinted windows, Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amp for the headunit and sub and amp combo, OEM Puddle lights, OEM tailgate lock, OEM bed mat, LED interior lights, OEM blackout kit for letters, JLT catch can, upgraded 27F toyota True Start battery, Vleds led tail light kit with Pro tail lights, OEM Rave4 side mirrors with convex spotters, just to name a few mods.
I did 5100s set on the 4 the perch, 1/4 spacer on the driver's side for the taco lean, ECGS clamshell bushing as preventive maintenance, then a one inch block in the rear. Added a set of 265/70/17 Toyo open country at2 SL tires on TRD pro Sema 4runner wheels. Did a front and rear diff drops and the ride is better than stock, rides awesome,no vibration, no calibration issues with the tires which the new set is a little lighter than the stock sport wheels and tires. Didn't loose any gas mileage, didn't hurt my ride at all. Had it professionally installed by a leading off road shop in my area. Some may agree and some won't but don't waste your money on ome coils as they will sag eventually. You don't need new uca either. The 5100s are a great economy lift, life time warrantyIMG_20190502_070948422_HDR.jpg , look great and will perform extremely well.

With 5100’s set on 3rd or 4th notch , do you think the diff drop is a must? Trying to get everything in my head before I go to have mine done. Also, how much did the 4th notch actually raise yours, if you measured before install.

Some say drops are not necessary but the shop did them to keep things in perspective. The drop kits are cheap. I wanted them so I didn't want to deal with vibration and premature issues. I got about 2.5 front and of course an inch in the back and figure about a inch from tires, I'm guessing. It just a proven method that has worked out well for a lot of 3rd gens here.

I went with this Kit and added the 1/4” spacer for the Tacoma lean.
I would spend the extra money and have them assemble the springs and shocks. Will get new top hats that way also. I didn’t, but I would next time if I put in another one.

I’d like to say the ride is pretty similar to stock, didn’t notice a “big” improvement. Just slightly stiffer. If u like your stock ride, spacers shouldn’t change the quality. I did the 5100’s on the 4th notch, stock sport coils, 1/4” spacer for the taco lean, and headstrong off-road 3 leaf AAL. All in all I felt the 5100’s are a worth while upgrade and I like the ride quality. I did take it off-road on some pasture dirt roads and I noticed it was pretty smooth compared to stock. FWIW I think if you lift the front and rear the same height i.e. 2” front and rear, you shouldn’t get vibes or need diff drop/shims. But that’s just what I noticed.

Also, I said I’d be okay with 265/75r16 when I first did lift research, and now I’m looking for 285’s lol. I’m a big believer in big tires

Since your truck is so new, you should already have good bilsteins. Get the 2" spacer for the front. Go 3" if you'd like and pick up a good aftermarket upper control arm. Just the arm and leveling my front made a huge difference in how my truck handles and the overall feel.

I'm running 275 65R18's and could probably step up a bit. I also have Bushwhacker flares so that might be why my tires seem to have plenty of room.

Good arm and spacer should keep you under 600. I picked up the arm from Freedom Off-road and am very happy with the quality and beef considering it is a lower cost option.

    Good luck.

That would a spacer to lower the carrier bearing on the rear driveshaft. Reduces the angle of the rear driveline.
