Welcome to TacomaWorld. We've had a few people on here do 4x4 conversions successfully. I'm sure there will be resources available if you need it.

Congratulations! Nice find! You got some kind of lucky with that fuel tank and pump after 9 years of sitting.

Will throw some pics up today I'm just waking up but I was looking on yotashop.com and it seems the best route for the gasket kit is to buy the original head gaskets separately left then right for $53 a piece then the other gaskets in the kit for around $180 does that sound right? Does anyone have any knowledge of where I can find the best deal on the complete original gasket kit? Can't find nothing on here about that

I use FelPro on my other cars. The last build before the Tacoma we used FelPro exclusively on a Subaru EJ25. The new FelPros are the "go to" gasket for Subarus that like to blow head gaskets. I didn't need to replace the head gaskets on my engine swap. But I replaced every other gasket and seal. So I don't have any first-hand experience with 3.4L head gaskets. I used OEM gaskets and seals for everything except the intake manifold gasket and valve cover gasket. The reason for that is I had pitting on my head from gasket rash. Even though I did my best to make the head to intake manifold perfectly smooth, there is a surface defect that I'm working around. In that case, the FelPro intake manifold gaskets have an extra silicone seal that fills in the gasket rash area. I've tackled this problem on other aluminum engines over the past 10 years and know how this particular gasket can help overcome that issue. For valve covers, I've used the blue silicone FelPro gaskets tame cars with chronic leaking valve cover gaskets. Again, the gaskets solved a problem. I just don't like black rubber valve cover gaskets because they get hard and brittle much faster than silicone.

So I used a mix of OEM and FelPro. I think I picked the best of breed for the application and use. For seals, the front and cam seals come with the timing belt kits. They are OEM. The rear main seal I bought OEM from one of our discount OEM parts dealers. If I wasn't using OEM, I would be using National seals. National and FelPro are both owned by Federal-Mogul (FM). I've seen press releases where FM supplies seals to Toyota. Life goes on.

He uses the same stuff I use in these applications felpro is the best valve cover gaskets and probably intake too, I haven’t used the Intake mani gaskets yet, but next time I’m gonna. Toyota doesn’t need our money on certain stuff that has a short life on our long lived trucks. Some stuff like seals and head gaskets, you can’t get around the factory stuff or you’ll be regretting it, hoses never buy from Toyota unless you like the color your money burns, with one exception the radiator hoses and all the coolant hoses, but for vacuum hoses never.
