That’s totally fine. You should go do those things. Your opinion of the 3G is well know and doesn’t really need to be reiterated, because no one is really that deeply interested here. Just make your tag line “buy a Runner” and see if you can get some followers, maybe on another site.

All the best man, as always.

He has a point, after all 2nd Gen’s use the torque monster 4.0, that thing might as be a 5.9 Cummins. Plus the quality of the Tacoma went way down when they switched from the 2nd Gen’s being hand assembled individually by a Japanese wiseman to the 3rd Gen’s being thrown together in Mexico. My 19’ OR gets 9 mpg highway and breaks every single day. Plus the the 3rd gen uses the Yaris motor. Just what I heard.

Not sure if joking. The Tacomas have never been made in Japan. They have always been built in North America.

I’m sorry, my post was 100% sarcastic haha. And I’m aware, just poking a little fun at the people who talk about how the 3rd Gen’s are built in Mexico and don’t know the countless DCSB 2nd Gen’s we’re built in the very same plant.

Well, the flip side of the coin is we know your position and your tag line is the 3G is the best thing ever and by no one, you mean you. It’s ok. I really don’t have to have a tag line for it, there are plenty of people who see the shortcomings and jump ship. I’d post links but it would take up several pages and might, correction, would effect your mood.

Stocklocker is always very objective about the 3rd Gen from what I see on here, he’s never struck me as a fanboy. Some of us just really like our third gen’s.

I don’t think you even read my post this thread. I said the 2G was more powerful with a less shifty transmission. You are exaggerating my opinion of the 3G. It’s a compromise truck. It’s the right compromise for me, and for you, which is why (other than foolish pride) you’ll be back from SUV land someday.

I wish you happiness brother. These times will pass.

I don't get why people post OTD prices on a national forum. The OTD price is dependent on local taxes. Someone who lives 25 miles away from me is going to get a very different OTD price because their sales tax, use tax and transit district taxes are way lower than mine. A county or state away, they could be paying far less without the $5500 of local taxes stacked on. If you're posting an OTD price and asking if it's good, at least list your local taxes. My OTD price was about $41K, but 13% of that was local taxes levied in lieu of an income tax.

Before this page goes to far. OP this is a prime example of what we were saying before lots of love and hate for the 3rd Gen you either love the shit out of it or hate the shit out of it. My Tacoma is 21,000km now (to lazy to convert to miles) never had a single problem. Have taken it on some great trails and adventures and it has always go me there and home. Test drive test drive test drive! Only you can decide if it’s the truck for you. I plan to keep my 18 until it falls apart hopefully in the 500k+ range. And so if your 2nd Gen is still running great you don’t need to trade it in. I love the looks of the 3rd Gen and honestly couldn’t really say that about the 1rst or 2nd gens before never been a huge fan but truly love everything about the 3rd. Hope you make the right choice for you and your family and no one else! Good luck!

I genuinely love my 3rd Gen, much more than my employee’s 2nd Gen, although that’s also a great truck. The 3rd Gen feels so well built and drives so nice, plus I think they’re the best looking trucks on the road.

I've driven Tacoma's for 20+ years. I had 4 second gens. Loved them all. The last one I owned was a 2014 SR5. I traded it for a 2018 TRD OR and absolutely hated it. Traded it after two months. Engine/trans absolutely sucked on the highway imo. My two cents.
