Sitting at the brewery waiting for my ride. Figured I’d share. Been collecting parts for this for awhile now. Very excited. :yay:

New valving, adding adjusters, re-did the finish on the shock body. A few other small details that I’m hoping add big changes to the ride quality.

Pro tip on the Raptor liner.

If you mix in paint thinner to thin it out and use a real paint gun, you can make it look more like paint and not bed liner. AKA not a textured.

This is my plan. The main reason is the texture captures dust more so it pretty much impossible to keep clean I've read.

If you thin it out though it'll spray like paint. Might take a bit more time to get a good layer sprayed but should work nice.

    Yes
I think it would just look like a really bad orange peel paint job without the texture ?

Not sure I haven't tested it yet. But I bet if done right you could eliminate most of the texture. Because if it's thin enough you can spray it at a high psi which would give it more of a mist and the air pressure and nozzle has a bigger effect on the texture than anything.

I’m planning on tinting my raptor liner the color of the earth so I can be looking good at work even if I rolled up right after an off-road trip - still it’ll be second favorite choice to a mellow blue but I guess I’ll see what you guys do since I’m sure I’ll be doing my truck later in a year or two.

I like the textured look as long as it is a fine texture and not big goopy globs like some. I am fully expecting the cleaning issue though.

For me that is somewhat a concern. I have line-x on my bedsides and quarter panels. The dealer sprayed color matched paint over the line-x when I had it done years ago. I thought they were using a tintable line-x that they were mixing the color match into. Thus, the texture isnt as 'deep' as it normally would be. From a dirt stand point, I honestly just hose it off and it comes clean. I hope raptor liner on the rest of the truck will perform the same way.

I was reading that when using the shultz gun, if you increase the gun pressure to 60psi and then spray closer you will get a finer texture. I think this makes sense since the raptor liner has less time to 'airate' before it gets to its final surface. I may just buy a 1L kit of raptor and then spray some test piece at different pressures/ distances and see what I like before I go ballz deep into turning the truck into that Toyota Cement color.

I went down the raptor liner hole the other day. I think I have settled on getting the Toyota Cement Toner (1H5) mixed as my new color. It is slightly cheaper than the $20/ 3oz bottles of toner on Amazon. I plan on buying 12 bottles of raptor and harder from amazon and then 3 pints of toner at $75 ea. It still will be significantly cheaper than getting the rest of the truck done in more line-x.

Ill probably do this in august depending on work schedule and my basement project.

Soo tundra rack mod stuff...almost gunna install it into my truck....

And for anyone wanting to upgrade thier steering, once I got mine in and tested I think I'm gunna offer like mod services to do this to a rack.

Like you buy a tundra rack, disassemble it(really easy to do) send me the rack and pinion gears and I'll machine em for you then send em back, or I overhaul some racks, mod em and sell em to you guys...yes itll be cheaper than solos or Marlins when it comes out...thinking like 4-500 to do the machining and around 900-1000 for a assembled rebuilt rack...

Still just a thought...wanna see if there's interest?
In addition my dad and I will be making a youtube video documenting dissassembly, reassembly and of course the mod

    What u dudes think?
