I hear it more now, but I also took out everything behind the rear seats. I have a mount/board for stuff that I haven't gotten around to installing yet though, and that should take care of the noise.

Soooo, I've had my Tacoma for almost 2 weeks now, and I put a quarter tank of 85 octane in. Unbeknownst to me that truck is recommended to have 87 and above. Anything i need to worry about?

I wish the dealership mentioned this. My mistake I guess

When I bought my truck a few months ago I know I wouldn't have sat still for a 30 minute presentation on the nuances of the vehicle. I was too excited...I barely let them walk me through syncing my phone to the stereo. That owners manual though...what a page turner!

Shouldn't be a big issue since you mixed 3/4 tank of presumably 87 with 1/4 tank of 85 you essentially have about 86.5 octane. Maybe drive until you're down another 1/4 tank and fill with 92. That would get you a tad over 87 in the tank... or just drive and fill with the proper octane when close to empty. I doubt you'll see any difference in performance either way.

Fireworks here in Olney paid for by the 1st National Bank. Buddy took a slew of photo's of them last night. These are 3 that caught my eye. I stayed home in the projects and enjoyed a nice shave while they lighting the fireworks off.

Got my Tepui Autana 3 mounted and added mounts for recovery gear. Took it all out for a test drive yesterday.

Getting closer to back country ready. Still waiting for my BAMF sliders and SSO slim line bumper (which apparently they have to smelt the steel for).

I've had an MBRP exhaust on my truck for a year and a half and I like it. It's received an fair number compliments from folks who have heard it. It was a little buzzy at first and there was some drone but once the muffler "broke in" the sound mellowed and deepened a bit. There is still some drone but not that bad.

I have that same bed extender, though I’ve only used it for kayaks so far. I saw that it’s rated up to like 400 pounds (skeptica) but how did it handle with that type of load , hangover and weight in the bumps etc?

It handled well. No problems with shifting load or over flexing. I was worried about big bumps, like rail road crossings, but it seemed to work fine. The truck suspension made big bumps pretty soft. I did tie down the load as good as I could in the truck bed to keep as much of the load on the truck as possible. I also stacked most of the wood on edge to give it more strength to cantilever out the back.

Long live the short bed! :)
