dude, I have been preaching this forever on here - be prepared no matter what the circumstances. If you don't have 1-2 weeks of supplies ready to easily toss in the tacoma, need to get that organized.

I prefer vehicles that don't have downstream sensors nowadays.

I basically prepare like that for every wheeling /camping trip so I think we'd be okay, my camping tote is full of water and food supplies (freeze dried meals etc). Only thing I don't typically keep on hand is extra fuel but I think I should

haha seriously. No, the tacoma is running like a champ. The only thing I need to do is replace the lower (and might as well do upper) radiator hose clamps. The lower has lost a little tension I guess, there is just a little bit of a leak enough to cause some of that crusty pink stuff around the end of the hose.

When I drove it off the lot in 2002 I had them put in an over-the-rail toyota liner. When I put a shell on in a couple of years ago, that liner went out and a under the rail toyota liner went in. Despite the typical feedback of the liner scratching the hell out of the paint, I only had a few scuff marks in the bed and along the rails.

but its very clean only a few stray crusty marks, loads of snow and ice piled high back there over many winters and not bad under there

That is indeed way more rednecky. I like it.

Remind me not to take you on any trails with that death trap waiting to arc out. With the amount of money you've put into your rig you'd think you'd have spent 60 bucks for a battery box already. Ballistic Fab makes a good one. It's what I'm running. The bolt holes don't fit the fender well but a few new holes and a few new bolts solves that problem pretty quickly.

Does it make me a bad person because I enjoyed watching the Douglas county sheriff's write parking tickets on tourist cars.

I should get an aftermarket one yeah. I got rid of my metal oem tie down because it did arc out, kept getting loose and hitting the terminals. The rubber holds it in place far better than the oem one did and it hasn't slid around at all on me since then.

What brand is that one in the photo?
