    Update...very glad I did this mod!!! It has proved to be very useful during this hot summer for locking the keys and wallet in the truck while at the neighborhood pool with the kids.

    Not to go off topic, but I'm confused over the states that will tow your vehicle if its running with nobody in it.

    I do this frequently in the summer so that I can keep the AC on for my dog while I run in to a store. I just take my spare key and it allows me to lock the doors with the physical key (not the fob) while the other key is in the ignition. Would they tow my vehicle and my dog away?!

    Shittt, I hope they wouldn't tow your dog! I honestly have no idea which states would do that, but someone else mentioned it so I threw it in there.

    This is a pretty cool mod and would save me from taking my spare everywhere I go during the summer. It's going on the "To-Mod" list for this winter :thumbsup:

    EDIT

    In VA it's illegal to leave your vehicle idling for over 3 minutes regardless if your inside or not.

    I saw the like lol regardless, I think this is a cool mod. Haven’t done it on my current truck though since it’s not my DD and the situation doesn’t really arise where I need to lock the truck with it running.
