I have it on my to-do list to contact a company about making electronic disco swaybars for Tacomas. There are aftermarket ones for the Jeeps, when Jeeps can come with them from the factory. I think there would be enough of a market for the Tacoma, being it is the 2nd most off-roaded vehicle behind the Wrangler.

Yeah it’s tc one brand new addition to their cool stuff. I liked the idea of not having the travel limited but keeping the wheels on the ground :)) I believe the rotor is about the same diameter as factory maybe just slightly larger but it’s a two piece aero top of the line one they have.

According to TC description it does not limit the travel. So there is really no need for it to be disconnected.

The swaybar doesn't limit travel, it limits articulation, or the delta in travel between the two sides of the vehicle. Swaybar + IFS sucks for off road articulation performance. There is a reason many run without the swaybar for better off road performance, but I don't want to sacrifice that on road stability. I want both. My Wrangler Rubicon had both (aftermarket), and it was a 2004. 15 years later the Tacoma should have some solution other than just remove the swaybar.

I agree had the rubicon before. Pretty simple and convenient! Will see how this tc does. It supposed to in the middle of two worlds.

Toyota has KDSS, which is excellent, but obviously not available on the Taco. FIA had, at one point in the past, banned these types of active anti roll bars from competition in WRC and Dakar. If I recall correctly, Mitsubishi cleaned up so well on the Dakar Rally using the active system, that it was part of the reason for FIA doing so. Swapping a system into a Taco certainly would be a task, but the results could be so nice.

I actually love the KDSS in our runner. Going from that, then over to my taco with no sway I really appreciate it. Which is why I’m considering throwing it back on.

The 4Runner always gets the Toyota love while the Tacos are left out.

The aftermarket systems are nothing as fancy as KDSS. It is just a replacement sway bar with a splined break mid bar. There is then an electronically actuated splined sleeve that joins the break or when actuated slides off to allow the bars to operate independently. Systems from Currie for Jeeps actually maintain an inner smaller sway bar when disconnecting the outer bar that is very flexible but maintains a very mild amount of swaybar function for trail use, which is what I previously ran and really liked.

That’s what tc bar supposed to be like. It’s a mild tension that supposed help things along not restrict it. Will see how it does once I get the truck back. I’m not familiar with kdss not really sure I’d like having more things that could go wrong but than again I just threw in a bunch of parts on my Tacoma that could go wrong lol. Few years back I almost bought a 4Runner maybe I should have looking back at it now lol. I can’t put a habitat on that so tacoma it was.

I gotcha, I missed it was an aftermarket bar.

Here is an example of a dual rate bar replacement I’d like to get in the Tacoma.

So figured I’ll give you an update the 16 inch rims will be very very tight fit for big brake rotors and calipers from stop tech to the point where it’s not advisable to use them if you gonna Be hard on the brakes or use it for Off Road I have decided to move on and give up the dream of volk wheels fitting which I know I’m gonna get a lot of hate for but that said I’d rather be safe than sorry. VTX it is lol at least till 17” rays come up with something.

Only reason is that’s the closes to Te37 looks wise but mainly I was going for 22 lbs weight. I don’t know if I had hear of any other 17” in that weight segment. Most others pushing 30lbs or more /: I knew I’d be lit on a stake for that hahaha I’ll take it
