Yep, at 8:17 my house was slowly rocking back and fourth for 20-30 seconds.

I hope folks closer to the epicenter are doing OK.

Felt it in Castaic. House rolled pretty good for a minute or so.

Can only imagine what it's like for them, I was in LA for the 6.4 quake that wreaked havoc on the city in 1994 and a 7.1 is considerably stronger.

Damaged homes in Ridgecrest, USGS said the quake is coming closer to the surface and moving northwards.

I've lived here all my life, I think I got used to them at an early age or something. I pretty much ignore most of them like they never happened. Lol

Today's was only the second one since the Northridge quake in 94 that actually made me get up & worry.

Hypocentral depth on this one was 1km or .5 mile. Source:

Yeah. I've been listening to Kern Fire feed since. Ridgecrest has a lot of broken gas lines and a few structures involved. Type 2 strike teams have been dispatched.

Same here. Well...the 94 quake happened the night we moved here when I was a kid but since then we've felt a number of tiny ones. But tonight was the only time since 94 that I actually got worried there for a second. Wife and I braced ourselves under the archway support in our living room
