just stay away from potential falling objects... power lines, poles, structures, glass blowing out, etc. You'll know, trust me. If it's enough to drop the house next door, being outdoors you'll be equally screwed when the pavement cracks open and swallows you up... lol

That's pretty much exactly why you shouldn't. Most structures aren't going to collapse in your average earthquake, but it's much more likely that power lines and roof tiles and such are going to fall and that's a bigger risk if you're outdoors

I always hold a glass panel over my head next to a power pole when a earthquake happens.

There ain’t shit for natural disasters out here. I’ve only ever seen 2 tornados. And neither touched down. Flooding doesn’t happen in my neck of the woods because high ground... I like my boring area, it’s safe!

I still remember that one. I had pulled a graveyard shift the day before - didn't get home until close to noon I think. Was sleeping when it hit. Shook my ass right out of bed. Crazy. A lot has changed since then but definitely a damn horrific event.

Visiting Missouri a lot as a kid I remember a few tornados. Never anything serious but a few times we had to go down into my grandparents basement for a few hours. The tornado sirens in the neighborhood were the most frightening part.

screw that. I spent a week (June iirc) in Austin, TX on business. I'll never forget those tornado warning/shelter signs and the dark skies that looked like hell was about to spawn and the humidity. Scary AF.

Agreed, but I still think earthquakes are the worst because you just can't predict them, not like you can tornadoes, hurricanes, even fires to some extent. Just happens seemingly out of nowhere
