Dealer stole my floor mat for recall

So i went in to get the recall work done today, and brake service. When i picked up my truck, there was no floor mat in the front. Aren't they supposed to take the old floor mat, and replace it with a new one?

 

Im going to call them first think in the morning. What does the new floor mat look like?

 

If you are referring to the new all weather mats you might be disappointed. I have a set that I negotiated into the price of the truck, but I have never opened them. They are too thin to really keep mud and snow off of your carpets. I think I will be getting Weathertechs.

 

they can't be that much worse than the old ones?! mines almost has a hole by the gas pedal where my foot rests lol

On the side note, Why that recall even exists, if there is no proof any of this prevents unintended acceleration (Toyota does not think that and it is stated in notice).
I think anybody who had their floor mat stuck and got into the accident should have license revoked on the basis of too stupid to drive.
Its again government trying to fix stupid

 

If we didn't allow so many BS lawsuit in this country everyone wouldn't be so afraid of being sued. I work in healthcare its ridiculous how people scream lawsuit every time they don't get what they want. And yes those people are too stupid to drive, slam it in neutral blow the motor better than getting killed IMO.

I agree with that but so far nobody could figure out any technical reason for UA, that means the only cases would be people not maintaining the car (aka floor mat stuck on gas pedal). Which is part of the driver license test

This is part of the driving test so all those idiots should have their driver license suspended.
So lawsuit on their part should be impossible. Again I side with people who claim this was Government attempt to help GM who was suffering horrible sales number. Otherwise this recall has no merit.

They owe you new floor mats if they took your old ones. You or someone else paid for the originals and the dealer took them. I don't think a resonable person would say it's ok to take them and not replace them. I'm sure if you call them and explain the situation (and maybe yell a little) you will get some replacements.

Someone posted a pic in one of the 8 or so threads that showed part of it but haven't seen pic of whole thing.

 

ok.. i just called the dealer and they told me if you have a aftermarket floor mat, they dont replace it, but if you have the stock one they do.

 

The i would tell them i wanted my aftermarket ones back or they can pay me for stealing them.
