Has to be the fill if it started pouring out while filling it. High pressure line should have starved the fuel injection. Wouldn't have made it away from the gas station much less to it.

So it appears Toyota has drain holes dripping onto other components rather than on the ground, similar to the AC drain dripping on the frame. Nice!

Yea, I figured since he’s been driving it around I would get it around 1/8 a tank before doing so.

If it's in the filler line, Jb weld. Not kidding. At least even as a temporary fix until you can order in a proper replacement.
If it's a metal high pressure line cut it out and install a compression fitting.6B39834D-C4B0-4486-B000-9CD6B81988C1.jpg

JB weld on fuel fill??? Yikes. Not doubting you. But that ain't for me.

I have never had to drop thetank on the toyota. Did it on a Bronco and it SUCKED. did it on a ranger once. Helped a buddy do it on his ranger. We pulled the bed on that one. Way easier. Dropping thetank isn't hard. Gravity does most of thework. Getting back in is where the blood starts dripping.

I think I'll be able to see it better if I pull out the plastic guard under the fender. Hoping I can just pull the plastic bed out and leave the body- might be easier-. Still have to do my research. I'll hit a dealer up here on Monday and get the part numbers. I'm assuming it's just a nick in the filler tube as it took a week to set off the check engine light for the gas cap.

Waiting for the comment: "You know for a $40,000 truck, you'd think this gas tank would be indestructible."

SH'Happens OP! Live, learn and move on. I was attempting to change my oil once after far too many beers and did the ol' Drain the transmission and double fill the oil routine. These trucks are pretty robust. Fix it right and move forward. Just adds to the character of the truck.

Fixed. Not a bad job. Remove the clamp by reaching under and around the fender skirt and the whole assembly unbolts and pulls out through the filler door. Teeny tiny puncture in the flexible corrugated end of the pipe.

Lesson learned. Thanks for the support.
