    Sounds about right....

Got a work van with a Chevy V8 filled with tools that does better.

What exactly does the 3rd gen do well besides looks? Seriously.

Have about 7k miles on my stock 2WD V6 auto. I get just under 20 mpg per tank in mostly city driving, on the highway I easily get mid-20s. That's on Florida roads.

Coming up on 50K miles on my OR with an RCI skid plate and ARE MX cap. Keep all of my fillups in an Excel spreadsheet. The average over the life of the truck is 22.7 mpg with a tank-high of 26 mpg. My brother says I drive like an old lady but it works. This includes lots of Colorado passes.

You must live in Limon or some flat land area because you aren’t going to average that high near the mountains. Period.

Smells like some BS but it’s TW so to be expected.

Nope. It's how you drive it, just being easy on the pedal. Not going 65 over Loveland or Vail Passes, and doing around 45-50 over Rabbit Ears, Tenn, and Fremont Passes. The fastest I do is around 65 (even on I-70 in Utah), hence the old Lady comment. The truck really doesn't mind the high elevations. Also it can be 20-30 mi between stop signs. Not much stop-n-go driving up here.

Sorry but you, your truck, and your driving style are not unique in anyway.

I’m sure you’ve hit 22 from time to time and I’m sure you hit 26 on a short distance cruising downhill but you aren’t pulling 100+ extra miles on a tank over every other Tacoma because you’re “easy on the pedal”.

Heck I would about pay money to see that.

Nope. Average 22.7 over the life of the truck. The odometer usually reads 325-ish miles at 1/4 tank when I fill up. It's stock except for the skid plate and cap. I think those might help a bit I don't use the truck's comp to compute the mileage, just miles/gallons filllup computed by the spreadsheet. Other folks have posted similar Ave MPGs so I'm not alone in getting decent gas mileage. Most of the time when I fill up and reset the computer, the display says 416 miles to empty.

I haven’t seen it and literally every other Tacoma average is 17-20. Anyone with more usually has bad data.

    But hey it’s your story

One of the problems I have is folks start riding and tailgating my a$$ if I drive to maximize mpg. I'll watch folks blow around me and haul a$$ then lay on the brakes right at the next light.

If I drive 65mph on the freeway same thing. Even worst is the speedster tailgaters are sometimes talking on their cell phones.

I average a combine of 20-22 with ECT on and Houston traffic towards Galleria is shit (bumper to bumper). Trd skid plate and trd 4runner wheels are the only upgrades.

I drive the mountains of Central Oregon and have an average of 21.4 over the last 1700 miles, and a high tank of 24. I see his results as plausible. My lifetime average has just dipped below 21 by towing jet skis to the lake and back all weekend.

I drive fast, lots of short trips, average 11-12mpg and don't give a fuck. If you do, quit complaining or get a fucking Prius.

The trip computer usually shows 18.4 mpg for my 20.1 mile commute to work at 69-70mph, mostly freeway with a slight uphill grade. The drive home is usually 22.4 mpg for my 20.1 mile drive home at 72-75 depending on the flow of traffic. Throw in my days off or a little running around here and there the computer usually gives me 20.5 to 21mpg. The quick math in my head confirms it’s pretty close. Just bumped to 265/75 16s P rated GY ultra terrains’ and it looks like they are going to cost me about .5-1 mpg. I also just ordered OVTune so hoping that might make it up.

Really feels like how you drive it helps, but also what the terrain is can screw you.

I show 14-15 consistently that is not corrected for 33s. These aren't high mpg commuters. I never got over 18 when stock.
