Did the AC drain mod, used some Meguiars scratch X2.0 to clean up a few minor scratches and went back to the factory grill. Plasti dipped the chrome surround and painted the emblem. Originally thought the emblem was a little too bright red but I don't think it looks too bad against the black and pyrite mica.

2008 Access Cab 4X4, 116k miles. (purchased 2 weeks ago) I got to the front differential today, did the transfer and rear dif last week. I'm luckeir than others, the plugs had clean holes and came out without much trouble. A couple of Kroil treatments may or may not have helped. I replaced the drain plug with the Lexus plug. Bought one for the fill plug but they aren't the same. The front oil was much dirtier than the rear.

I think Toyota has two to many engineers; the one the used hex nuts on the differential, the other being the one who designed the transmission without a dipstick. It's ridiculous, could have used them both in quality working on the frame rust :annoyed:

Front diff pulled, so ready to get shipped out to ECGS. As soon as they send me some labels, they’ll be on their way!

Thanks, can't take credit though. That's what they recommended! It's genius too. $10 in buckets and tape, filled the void with rags, and they're solid as ever.

Hey man it works. I would feel good about them getting to where they need to go being shipped like that.
I used to keep a "hay hook" in my service truck to transport alternators and starters to and from the parts counter and my Service Truck.

Added some recovery gear to the truck today. I'm not a hard core off-road guy. My off-road travel is primarily on hunting and fishing roads. Added this toolbox. Cut some flat iron and secured it on the top to the bed rail, and the bottom to the back of the box. So that I can remove it easily if needed, I used plastic knobs for the bottom bolts that spin off quickly. It will be under my locked Bak Flip, but a potential thief would have to have a Torx wrench on hand and remove both of the top bolts. In addition, I added a small cable through the back of the box that is secured on the bottom through one of the existing holes in the bed with cable locks. Inside the box I used a rope cleat on the cable, so if needed, it can be removed easily and quickly. (Clearly, if someone wants this stuff bad enough, they'll find a way to get it. Just trying to make it a PITA for them.) Inside the box: Crosby shackles, ARB snatch strap, Hi-Lift tree strap, Hi-Lift recovery strap, Tuf-Tug come-along (Made in USA), wheel chocks (8" tall for 32" tires), ARB cable damper, Factor 55 HitchLink, B&W hitch pin and a tow strap cinch bone. Everything is rated appropriately for my truck. Already mounted the all steel Kobalt shovel on the inside of the bed, shown in a past post. Next I'm mounting my traction boards. Hope I don't ever need this stuff, but sometimes you have to push it to get to the deer woods or trout stream!

Installed the Relentless Fabrication tailgate liner. It took two months to get here and it was damaged when I got it. Someone in shipping dropped it on it's end and rolled the top edge under about a half inch. I waited so long for it, I just hammered it back flat and installed it. I fluid filmed the inside of the tailgate while I had it opened.
Then, I Fluid Filmed up in the weep holes in my rockers, doors and sprayed some select sandwiched areas of the frame from the middle of the truck to the back. It's pretty hot here now so I should get some good creep. Also, I noticed the smell didn't linger as long this time.
It's pretty neat stuff. The last time I did my doors, I noticed the stuff creeping up the outside of my doors a couple of inches. I think that's a good sign that it creeps all over inside the panels too. I've been doing this since I got the truck four years ago and my frame still looks excellent. When I get a little more free time, I'll wire brush my welds and apply some Rust Oleum, but they're looking pretty good for now.
I have a wand but it doesn't work on the FF cans. It does work on the Champion chain and cable lube so I've liberally hosed out the front boxed portions of my frame with it.
Should be good for a little while now!
