do you know if they simply took the tire off, undid the spindle nut, and then the 4 nuts and 4 bolts for the ball joint and that's all?

I'm planning on doing this soon, and I'm just thinking about the process.

Also, if anyone has left the UCA on, and swapped the balljoint, feel free to chime in!

What's the largest landing gear you can fit without rubbing? Highest altitude attainable with stock tires?

Yeah you definitely can swap the BJ with the uca on the truck. Hell, it’s even easier because the arm is held in place while you Torque the bolts.

A little bit of this, a little bit of that...
    Question:

Installing these today. Is it ok for the rubber boot not to cover the whole ball joint until the truck is on its own weight?
As it stands the truck is off the ground without wheels and the JBA rubber boot is skewd towards the outside, leaving a gap exposing the ball-joint socket.

I know this has been asked but I can't find the info: any chance we will see these for the 1st gens? Or any way massage a 2nd or 3rd gen to fit a 1st gen? I don't know enough about front suspensions of the 2nd and 3rd gens to know if they could work.

I dont know all the nuances regarding wheel alignment. I just finished installing the JBA on my 2006 TRD Sport DCLB with a Biltstein 6112/5160 lift.
What numbers should I be looking for when I take it to get aligned?

I like 0 camber personally most people will say have some positive camber, anything close to 3 degrees of caster, Toe +.05 to .08.

Otherwise most shops will just give you some OEM spec alignment if you don’t tell them specific numbers or a toe and go alignment. If you don’t see them take off your skid plate and messing with your alignment tabs go find another shop. I found out the hard way at firestone, finding a good alignment tech is hard to find....3F4A5FAD-3618-40AF-8C58-86800BA72D64.jpg

I believe there is a pic with alignment specs on the website, somewhere towards the bottom of page.

    This is mine.
and it is still rather conservative with the caster. I just didn't want to fight with the tech, and it feels quite fine.

Thank you @Bastek and @oscolivar1 , I will take it to a local offroad shop that, I believe, only does Toyota work.
