2010 Good Ol' Transmission Clatter!

I've been lurking for awhile and decided to post my experience...

So my 2010 Tacoma Access cab 4x4 (4cyl) has been making a rattling sound in the transmission when the clutch is out and it's in neutral (worried about TO bearing)

It has 1500 miles on it! I took it in to Toyota to have them take a look at it. I told them to leave it in neutral...let the clutch out with the A/C on and listen outside the truck. Ok fine!

I sat in the waiting area for over an hour after I saw them take the truck back. Dude comes to me and says...our tech drove it all around for awhile and couldn't hear anything

I told him that you don't hear it driving. ONLY when it's in neutral and the clutch is out and the engine is under load with the A/C. The guy kind of looked at me like I was crazy! So I demonstrated it for him. I showed him that it went away when you push the clutch in. He said...yeah...that's ‘objectionable’

He said, "I'll talk to my guy about it, and I'll have him give you a call tomorrow. It's probably something we want to look at."

Well, tomorrow was last week and no call. I called last Friday for an update, and they are out to lunch. So they left the guy a message to call me back...never happened. I just sent them a not so nice email. I am thinking about trying another dealership.

 

Honestly, go to another dealership. I noticed costs are different too! I wanted to buy caps for my bumper and the guy wanted 16 bucks each and then I tried a different dealer and he gave 'em to me for free!

 

Yeah...this isn't the introduction I was expecting from a brand spankin' new Toyota!

 

Ok will do. I kinda figured if I called them they would just send me to the dealership that I went to.
