Fender flare removal

I’ve had my 1st gen for a while and been thinking about taking the fender flares off. Does anyone by chance have any pics of what it would look like before I do it?

It looks good! I appreciate it man, got plans for this thing just doing little bit at a time. The biggest thing I’ve really done is put tint the led head light and I put a super 10 flow master muffler on here

 

Next for me is lift, going 2.5in rough country suspension

How did you remove the flares having alittle trouble got the bolts out now what?

remove the bolts that are holding the flare in place and yank them out. You will break a few clips but you can get a pack of the red/blue clips for a couple bucks.

01-04 have holes and I’ve seen some people use washers and bolts to fill the void

 

Just call them tan lines

 

Agreed, they have been for a long time too. Pretty much all my lift related suspension parts I have ordered from Wheelers. Coilovers, leaf springs, & rear shocks back in 2005, new set of coilovers last month, & some more rear suspension parts order just today. Still the same great service.

I've seen someone put SS button head hex socket screws in the holes, looked pretty good. Or if you have kids, just ask them to put some of their stickers over each hole. I'm sure they'll be happy to fix you right up.

 

So the 96 to 00 doesn't have holes?

 

Only 01-04 have visible holes behind the flares.

I'm in need of taking my fender flares off to asses a rust situation.

My question is what happens to the factory "seam" that is located between the paint and fender flair?

is it attached to the fender flair?
