For sure. It's interesting. I find it somewhat intriguing that some of the young guys now want that high-end bridge deal so that they can max out again. There is a lot of risk involved there, so I would think it is still better to take the term and lock down your money, but I can see both sides. And just so I am understanding this, as far as the offer sheet, if say Montreal would do a deal similar to what you used as an example, wouldn't they also be on the hook to give Toronto back some pretty heavy draft pick compensation? So that is also something to factor in. Like if Toronto thinks he is worth 10. But another team offer sheets him at 11.5 for 3 years. In a way, that might be a blessing for Toronto, since they are rid of the worry of fitting him in, plus get some nice picks in return.....or am I not thinking this out correctly?

 

You're bang on. Dubas would be better off taking compensation and then using said compensation to buy a couple of pieces that can help the Leafs more than Marner. Dubas would also then have the funds to lock up Barrie and Muzzin long term.

 

See what happens. Would be a shame to see him go but if he is pretty firm on maxing out, gonna be tough with JT and AM already in the fold.

 

Centers > Wingers any day. I mean you need talented wingers for the center to be effective but the Leafs have those guys IMHO.

 

I honestly think the owner is more happy with 8.5 over 5 years than the front loading.

Ya that's the thing. I am getting to the SJ/SF area om Saturday and the game in SJ is Tuesday. Some I don't really have to go down to LA area till Wednesday. The games there are Thursday and Friday, then leaving to go home Sunday. Some I'm trying to decide on where to stay thebdifferent day
