2.7l cold air intake

Has anyone put a cold air intake on their 2.7l? If so what brand did you go with and how much of a difference did it make?

 

I have a K&N one. It makes probably zero performance increase. I only bought it because it sounds freakin awesome and it looks good.

If you don't like loud engines then this isn't for you. It screams on the freeway, hard to keep a conversation.

Imagine your engine, but with a metal tube on top. Thays what they all look like.

If you spend $200 on one, your total difference is that you will be $200 poorer.

The only upside is that it looks cool and makes the engine sound louder to the driver. That's it. If you're expecting any HP increase there's nothing.

 

Anyone swap a K&N air filter for OEM? Any noticeable difference other than price?

 

Noise.

That's about it. But I like the noise.

 

What was the stock one? I want to get a new one and cannot do find the stock part?

Folks that have installed a K&N filter often report oil from the filter gets on the airflow sensor. The oil then affects the Ohm reading.

 

That’s because they don’t know how to oil the cleaner after they clean it.

You put a very light coat of oil only.

I’ve never had a problem with over 500,000 miles on my KN filter

 

Don't lie. A k&n destroys your motor the first time you start the engine. Then it drinks all your beer, knocks up your wife and your cat. Well known fact.

 

I swapped mine out at 1000 miles. The only difference i have noticed is i dont have to buy new ones every time it gets dirty. So its paid for itself by now.
