I'm working on my own diy version, these are the side rails that I'll make a similar on on the front of the bed as well for - I'll probably make something that is similar to that for tie downs. I added threaded bungs on the tops to eventually mount things to as well.

Yeah without the bedsides the sheet metal loses a lot of rigidity so I'm going to make a little modular bolt together bed cage just to regain the support and mount whatever I need to not move around in the bed.

TC is currently at the top of my list.
I like the idea of a fabbed spindle, would be cool if someone made one with less width. Was hoping to see some more of the new MC kit but with their other stuff it might just end up being almost unobtanium.

Is camburg making a fabbed spindle now?

TC race kit comes in 2 or 3.5 with camburg's spindles would do it. The MC looks cool.

Because I am ignorant feel like I should ask the guys who have really set up their suspensions and gotten some real world #s

So looking at the different LT #s from the different manufacturers all 3.5" LT. What can be expected real world from these different manufacturers. I know stock CVs will limit flex. Tell me how you are running your set up and the #s you are getting. I like the design of TC better than the others so far. Had a buddy who ran the Camburg on his T4r he liked it ok.

    TC-13" t-ravel
    Camburg- 14" travel
    DK- 13.5" travel

An inch difference in travel isnt going to make a difference....and those are legit real world numbers. The TC stuff has been around the longest and they have pretty good customer service...camburg makes a good product, customer service kinda sucks.

    DK ...no idea

Especially for a 4wd with CVs, because they have to be strapped. So the travel range is probably the same amongst those 3, whatever range the CV limits to in this case. But disclaimer, I could be wrong, I've got no experience yet. Just from my lurker reading.

When you aren't bombing around the desert and adapting it to run rocky trails an inch more travel can make the difference in getting a tire to have some traction or hanging in the air. Seen it and experienced it with my 63 swap running the same trail trying the same line. Also I would think that putting some money into RCVs that can take more articulation you wouldn't have to limit the down or up travel as much as you would with just a stock CV with longer shafts. At some point the Uniballs in their orientation become the limiting factor I would suspect.

But those RCVs that MC has been working with on they are looking pretty sweet just get a little longer one for the 3.5 kit and now something else becomes the limiting factor.

Love my dirt king setup and have been beating he crap out of it basically worry free for almost 2yrs now. Getting ready to head for the rubicon with it next week.

As for travel numbers, I’m getting the full 13.5” of 4wd travel with their machined inner cv joint. If you used rcv axles you would see the same as I believe they claim even more articulation.

And customer service has been top notch every time I’ve dealt with them.

Who is MC? Marlin Crawler? I do love the work RCV's been doing making bombproof axles, eventually when I go 3.5+ I'd like to get a set. And I get what you're saying with something else becoming the limiting factor. There was a debate on the IFS forum about what that factor could possibly be. There was talk of the stub shaft, the spider gears, and even the ring gear in the diff being the next thing to blow haha. But I'm sure that's pushing the extreme upper limit of performance if you're busting any of those lol.

Oh but you need to go and look into independent suspension some more it's a deep black hole . I'm not concerned with next "weak" link for breakage more for binding and not getting articulation. And yes I am referring to Marlin Crawler as MC

There have been some successful IFS, IFS/IRS rock bouncers, lots of ultra4 cars etc.

I completely agree. IFS when setup and tuned properly, is glorious, and the high speed performance cannot be matched. The way toyota sets it up from the factory is shit though (swaybarisnoexceptioncoughcoughcough).

While we're on the topic of LT kits with fabbed spindles, @ovrlndkull check out LSK's 4.5. I know you said you didn't want to go over 3.5, but really the price tag isn't too bad considering it does have the fabbed spindles. Crazy for a bolt on kit, definitely down the rabbit hole.

If I could move everything inboard 1" it would be good. Already a 3.5 kit out here will be tight on some of the trails we go on. But there is just a lot of fab work and custom stuff to move inboard 1".
