    Has anyone found a Chinese supply for the dreded compass, Temp burned module? I'm wondering if there is a supplyer for the circut board. Most of us could replace that quite easily.

    My board is toast and the only option is one from a wrecked Taco or new...seems this should be easier and cheaper solution.

    I shipped mine to an Ebay guy a couple weeks back. Hasn't worked in several years, one wk turn around and works again.

    Hey everybody. Sorry I didn’t make myself clear. My circuit board is unfixable. The repair people can’t fix it because (I’m assuming) some components are unfixable. The board needs replacing.
    There are burned areas where the previous owner must have attempted to fix it himself and ruined the board.

    Ez fix solder resistors. Bunch of YouTube videos problem is resistors get very hot and melt off. Dead board id wouldn't spend the $$$ since all that info can get from smart phone.

    Has anyone found a cheaper solution than this? I have repaired mine 3 different times and the resistor keeps popping off after just a few months. It is not enough of an inconvenience to spend over $100 to fix but it would be nice to have.

    different type solder? I put on a ton of solder it gets pretty hot by touching it. I used the craftmans solder repaired it once maybe 10 yrs ago

    I just got some new solder so I will have to see if it works any better. I have also been trying to keep the solder "clean" looking, but maybe I just need to pile it on there and make sure it can't melt and move again haha.

    What resistor are you putting on there? You never want it it to get hot enough to melt the solder, which is why going with one of those 1/2 watt beasts up above helps.

    And what kind of solder do you have? Any decent rosin core solder ought to work.
