    The truck is stock except for the topper. I don’t have the topper yet, it will be here in about 4 weeks. So I’ll know exactly what it weighs then. I go on vacation over Labor Day and am just trying to plan ahead.

    Why not just rent a suitable tow vehicle for the vacation?

    I wouldnt even start to worry until youre like approaching 1000 over.
    0 - 500 is no big deal.

    Your payload is most likely not 1,175 pounds. Check the door jamb sticker. You're probably closer to, or below 1,000 pounds.

    You’re way overthinking it. Those numbers are there courtesy of corporate lawyers. The engineers will tell you that there is a lot of buffer built in. Pack it up, go on your vacation, and have fun. Then post pics of the trip when you get back...

    If you use a WDH aren't you in effect reducing the tongue weight of the trailer? So it would be more like 50-100lbs on the rear axle? Seems like you could drop that from your gross weight calc . . . .
