Yes. And it helped. SSP fixed it.

Interesting. My only gripe with it right now is the early upshifting at times, and having to mash the throttle just to get it to downshift.

Mine would shift at the silliest of times.

I just looked it up. Looks pretty bad. I saw a video of water pouring from the ceiling of the Virginia square metro station

It is not them proving that is the problem. It is time spent in court that costs you more than a new truck that is the problem. Hopefully they don’t request your truck to be impounded to prevent tampering while they hear the case, which of course will be delayed and continued as long as possible.

can confirm i work at Reagan. The airport sent out notice to not use the parkway but all flights were grounded for awhile. visibility here got down to about .2 miles awhile ago. Most of Arlington is getting destroyed as well.

EDIT: heres some pics and video i have found so far.

Anyone have a set of spacers laying around that they would be willing to lend for a week or two?

Not sure if they're necessary yet just doing due diligence

I'm still working on repairing my bumper from the kamikaze deer and may need to throw money at some of the support pieces to remount the bumper and headlight brackets.
If I have some money to throw at it, I'll hit you up.
My FIL borrowed the taco to run some stuff back from IL under the cover of the camper shell. So if anyone jumps on it before he gets back don't hold it on account of me, but I'll check back in once I have the necessary repairs done

Like what @CTtoNoVa mentioned, a throw away laptop or a VM (virtual machine) would be the cautious way to go. If there’s any sort of malicious activity at all, it’d be something along the lines of what’s already been discussed. Just something going on silently in the background. Highly unlikely the end goal is to brick a truck lol

Even w/ a throwaway laptop, wouldn't the ECU be able to access the head unit, of which most of us connect our phones to?

For sure. If it's all true I'm sure the goal is to plant something in the laptop and see what happens.

Maybe. But your PC is a much richer target.

from being on that OVtune thread for a year, most people go to bestbuy and buy a $150 garbage computer and lock it away when not in use. Since the key is specific to that computer, you want to safeguard it and make it a dedicated machine. At least that’s what I did. It stays in a safe, with no connection to the outside world. I only take it out if I want to Load a new map which doesn’t require internet (unless there’s an upgrade)

Sending us a phishing e-mail or sharing a malicious tiny url is much easier than to embed malware in a piece of software used to load a tune on a Tacoma. I seriously doubt any malicious actor is going to go to the extreme of trying to load malware on our phones though our head units.
