I've been looking around at tactical shutguns (because I don't really have one) and been thinking pump for sure.

    I've looked at the:
    Remington 870

    Mossberg 500

Anyone have opinions on any of these? what's the aftermarket support for them? What should I look out for?

Yes i will be modding the crap out of it over time so that's why I ask about aftermarket support.

    Thanks:)

    Edit:
Mine will be the bottom one...

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
mossberg 500 is great. I have one and love it. You cant go wrong with either though.

check them both out at a local store. I liked the safetly location on the mossy better, however unless you get the 590, the safety mechanism is plastic.

I've always been a fan of the 870. The Mossberg is a nice weapon though.

Both are awesome. I have a 500 cruiser (7+1) and a 835. I think the Mossberg is a better bang for the buck but would be happy to own either. My dad has the 870 and he really likes it.

Oh I so wish I could afford that, but I don't have a G.5 to drop on that.

I'm trying to stay under $400 intial purchase. I need to get a hold of a mossberg, don't think I've ever held one.

I'm thinking calapsible stock and some other gooddies anyone have some reccomendations?

ya I don't want just the pistol grip but the collapsible stock and grip combo.

I was just looking at the Mossberg and Remington on Cabela's site, The Remington is running 1.5 to 2 inches shorter...But I like the mossberg looks more. Oh how will I decide, I need to go look at one.

Matt what are some good gun shops on the Westside of town, I only know of shooters world but they are pricey sometimes.

Mossberg 500. They are very reliable. Extremely smooth action. You want fast/reliable in your zombie defense!

It's up to you but I went through most of them because I thought they looked good and were functional but I sold them all off because in my experience they just aren't as easy to handle as regular stock. YMMV. If you insist on having a pistol grip stock, get the 870 as it's safty is in a better position for that set up.

I really don't want anything with a 28" barrel. This is going to do nothing but shoot targets, not clays or birds.

but what do you have in the way of the other, I may be interested...
