Looking for photos of the rear end of our 3rd gen with the rear bumper and hitch removed. The more detail the better. All of the photos I've seen came from rear bumper install write ups but everyone seems to skip the photo where there is just nothing on there.

I'm planning on fabbing up my own tube rear bumper and just want to see if it is worth pursuing or not. Design of the rear end with no bumper on there will help me decide.

    Thanks!

It might be a lot more efficient for you to just remove your rear bumper and see for yourself. That way you can take measurements and whatnot. Shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes with hand tools.

As someone who had to look at a friend's ugly rear end until he got his high clearance bumper.. don't do it. @Sociopenguin

Not a bad plan but hoping someone already has the photos to see if its even worth the 15 minutes. Good weekend job if no one has any.

He had a tube rear bumper before? Any photos?

I still remember the days when the Big3 made rear bumpers a freaking option on some trucks. Those were days were the height of the malaise era.

Thanks, I’m looking for more of a wide angle photo of the whole rear of the truck.

Found a few for the 2nd gen, but the 3rd gen does seem elusive.
