my 07 auto v6 has always shifted funny and slipped here and there. But everytime i go on a trip like over a 100 miles it will act up bad on me like last time i went on a trip the truck was running steady at 4500 rpms at 60mph.
And yesterday it stopped in the intersection to turn and it just revved like it was in neutral till i shut it off and turned it back on.

Engine light comes on everytime but by the time i get to the dealer it goes off. so they tell me they cannot do ne thing for me unless the light is on idk wut to do cuz i got a new job where im gonna be traveling 5hrs one way every week.
Is there a tsb out or ne thing on our trannys?
    Thanks in advance guys

Whaaat  at 60mph you should be under 2000 RPMS. are you putting on 2 ??
If thats the speed you geting on D then its broken like completely broken. ... how many miles you have and did you drain fluid out of the tranny by any chance (low fluid would kill it and make slip like that)

Don't know about Toyota but that's how my Nissan truck would act right before the transmission failed. All three of them. :)

Ha ha dont think you can get to second gear unless he is climbing Kilimanjaro while towing trailer with another pickup on it.
4.0L is not a HEMI but its not FIAT punto engine either.:D

How long ago did you hit deer. There maybe coolant in fluid. Where are you in NY? Can you go to different dealer? You need to get to dealer pronto, maybe oil flush will save the tranny.
    EDIT:
Also do you have towing package?

He means have you taken it to the stealership to have them service/flush the tranny oil? Thats what transmission fluid is essentially... Oil with ALOT of detergents (to keep the tranny clean). I plan on doing the tranny flush soon as mine is do and I just took a trip to Indy so I pulled the mountains. It was just fine though, no issues like you are having. I would get it to the dealer quick. JOE>

Do you still have warranty? Extended or factory?

Call dealership and tell them your tranny is slipping on gears, and you think that could be due to deer hit accident you had 1000 miles ago. Tell them RPMS reach 4500 going 60MPH on flat road which is an indication of slippage. Also tell them you have shifting issue. Tell them you want them to check transmission before damage occurs.
You also should tow your truck there and not drive it. When you towing use flat bed tow truck, if one can not be found they need to tow reversed with front wheels rolling, if that can not happen and they need to tow with rear wheels rolling then rear propeller shaft needs to be removed (you may want to put truck into 4HI before you do this so you can use front wheel drive to get front on tow truck. (make sure you put notice on steering wheel that rear prop shaft was removed for towing so when truck gets to dealership some knucklehead does not try driving like that.)
It is likely that you either have coolant in the fluid or not enough fluid. If you keep driving like that you will need new transmission for sure, right now it is possible there is not enough damage to justify change of tranmission.
What they need to do is figure out why it is slipping so
    1. Check for ATF fluid in coolant
    2. Check for coolant in ATF fluid
    3. Check ATF level.
    4. test shifting pattern (there is temp sensor)
    possible
    1. flush ATF
    2. Replace transmission filter + clean up Tranny pan.

Now if you tell dealer all this and they refuse to do something see if you can print out this thread and go to dealer (using some other car) if they still play moron then call Toyota corporate.
    Hope that helps:)
    Good luck
P.S. Where are you in NY ? If you afraid to post it send me PM :)

im up north by waddington ny between watertown and massena.
i called before u posted lol and told them i wanted my tranmission fluid changed and everything else checked out cuz its still giving me problems and that im gonna be going to albany alot and if my truck breaks down where theres no cell service and no houses for 30 miles i am not gonna be happy and they told me they will look at it and keep it for a couple days no problem but they cant get me in till tuesday and i will need to find a vehicle to drive.

I have factory warranty so i think i have powertrain until 50000 miles or something.
but when i had my chevy whenever i needed service and it was under warranty i got a loaner. but toyota no way they ever would gimme a loaner.

Ask them for a loaner when you drop truck off Warranty work gets you a loner.
You should tow truck there but if you can not for some crazy reason, keep speed to minimum.
I asked in case you are close enough for somebody from here, who can give you a hand and take a look at the truck. Post anyway in North East section see if anybody wit h some Toyota knowledge is close enough to take a peek or give you pointers. :proposetoast:
