With 255/85/16s, that'll move your scrub radius 1/2" towards the negative.

Have a current alignment sheet?

 

Yes stock wheels. I don't have a current sheet. I somehow misplaced the sheet they gave me after the lift install and am kicking myself for it. I have considered trying spacers, but don't really want to . Maybe a wheel that put the tires out a little further would help?

 

Yes...how much is hard to say without seeing the alignment.

Your truck comes with positive scrub. The spec for toe is +0.05 static; under dynamic conditions, it will toe out to zero.
When you have negative scrub, it will toe in under dynamic conditions, increasing the positive toe.
When you have zero scrub, toe is toe, no matter if it's static or dynamic. That is until a force acts on either the inner or outer half of the tire(s).
My thought is you are in the zero to negative range.

How's it feel under hard braking?
Any unusual wear on the outsides of your front tires?

 

Braking is fine. Steering at highway speeds is loose and requires constant input, that is my main concern. It was also like this before the new tires though. Just seems worse now.

I do not notice any unusual wear on the outsides of my front tires. I've got a buddy with a '17 TRD Pro with the same tires, Cooper ST Maxx. We are gonna swap trucks soon and see how much difference we can feel. Suspension difference aside, he has the Pro wheels while I still have the stock OR wheels. I'm not sure if there is any difference in offset there at all.

 

I believe the Pro is a 16x7 +13mm; the OR is 16x7 +25mm. This would be ideal for getting your scrub back to stock.
I would just swap wheels/tires. This would isolate how much is due to scrub and eliminate any difference in alignment.

How much and do you have aftermarket UCAs?
Depending on your answer, I wouldn't rule out lack of caster since you say the condition existed somewhat, prior to new tires.

 

OME 2885s up front for about 1.75" and an AAL in the back. No aftermarket UCAs because I wasn't over 2". I believe caster was around 2 degrees stock.

On a straight, flat road, grab the wheel and jiggle it back and forth. I can do this a fair amount, and not actually be moving my tires, still goes straight. If I moved the wheel by the same amount in my fj, I'd be swerving back and forth. There's play somewhere, how much is normal, I'm not sure. I'm all stock.

 

I would love to hear the results from this test. Please do let us know if you do this.

 

Need some caster.

 

Any of you guys notice this: highway driving, often a turn, but even when going straight, when there's unevenness in the pavement expansion joints where there's a drop (i.e. the tires catch a millisecond of air time, or the suspension unloads a bit for a fraction of a second) the steering jerks to one side as the truck "lands"?

 

This. I had a similar issue until my alignment was checked and re done.

 

Absolutely 100% yes this happens to me. Makes you pucker up pretty quick if you know what I mean lol.

 

Yeah I don’t notice any unusual pulling at highway speeds or otherwise. I’m running the same 33x10 tires as @HelloMyNameIs on stock suspension with a 2018 TRD Pro Tacoma. We will be swapping trucks before the our next trail ride in 2 weeks to look for differences. We can for sure trade wheels to see if that helps as well.
