I would say yes with 87 FOB. I have pre-tune numbers with winter fuel. I need to get around to some runs with the tune.

I wouldn’t think it’s as bad as the acumalaitor but your right it shouldn’t be there.if possible I would mod it but my 3 biggest pev after accumalaitor , tune (solved)would be the electronic LSD.i hope with the popularity of these trucks some after market outfit will produce a real LSD for us .

I'm considering going back to 87 base or stock to try to find mid range power again. Three days of mountain passes with 87 fob, and I realize how much more important mid range is than low end. I find if I'm in 2-3k rpm range on any sort of grade it's like the throttle is disabled. I feel like I'm looking for gears like I've never had to do.

Yes, I felt the same way going up a mountain. But that 87FOB made my truck accelerate through the gears smoother when it’s flat. I think I’m going back to the 87 Base too

I just flashed back to the 87fob becauae I thought the added grunt of the start would work better pulling my 5k TT. Now you got me thinking 87 base might be the better choice. :goingcrazy:

Well I finally pulled the trigger on the OVTune from the 4July19 sale! Did the adm delete last week and made a difference on how the truck feels. Now can’t wait to try out the tune towing my toy hauler for next month trip!!!:oldglory:

After a week and approximately 100 miles on this 87 Base tune, I am really liking it. I still have a very slight stumble, but it is much better than the 04A7100 TSB tune that I had for about 7K miles. I drove the truck to work today and when I shut it off, it showed I averaged 20.8 MPG. My commute is 9 miles (mostly highway) and before the tune I would average 17.5 - 18 MPG. Amazing.

I was running 87base tune with 89 octane for a while avg 14.7L/100km. Felt alright driving around town, definitely better than stock but still a bit of hesitation.

Loaded the 93fob tune over the weekend and running 94 octane. What a difference that made, she got some real pick up and go throughout the rpm range. Getting 15.3L/100km right now, but I think the tune is still settling in. We’ll see what happens after a couple of tanks.

Anything that comes with that shit will get disabled ASAP. I drove a buddies Subaru that had it and I hated it. Only time it would be nice is when pulling a big trailer but you can always ebrake hold

Taking off from a steep hill is when people learn the difference between an "E-brake" and a "hand-Brake". Its the 'final-exam' for MT-101.

WOW... just..wow. Rock bottom is no where in sight here.

Its called a "colloquialism": While many people call the "hand-brake" an "E-brake" in everyday reference, Truly the device is a "hand-brake": Thus one will experience the difference in terminology between a "hand-brake" and an "emergency brake" when they have to do a steep-hill start.

when one is on a sufficiently steep enough hill (or any precarious start-position)
-while holding in the hand-brake 'button' and pulling the hand brake all the way up
-one may take their foot off the brake pedal, apply throttle and begin slipping the clutch until it pulls slightly on the hand-brake
-you can begin releasing the hand-brake, while continuing to slip the clutch and apply throttle and take off, up the incline.

They put nanny features on TRD-Sport's just for guys just like you though. See, Toyota knows that it has to address deficient drivers like you with technology, rather than education, so they gave TRD-Sport's hill-start assist. Toyota correctly assumed you wouldn't even know what the above was, let alone how to do it.
