Loved fishing the intracoastal waterways and St Johns, especially Lake George.

I’ll always miss the world of Great Lakes fishing in Michigan/Canadian!! Walleye for food and Pike for sport!

I caught my one and only pike in a place called Steuben in the UP. Take a right in Manistique and go north, hang a left on 437, then hang a right on a dirt road to Byers Lake. Friend of the in-laws have/had cabins there. Awesome place. Saw my one and only Aurora Borealis there, too. Unforgettable.

Yeah they get big down there in FL. I've only ever caught a few bass and they were all babies compared to those.

The stripers are fun, but IMO the drums are much more fun/stronger fight.

Never caught a freshwater drum. You need to go out to the coast and troll for stripers hook into a big 30+" and fight that sucker especially when they are coming inshore and up the rivers to spawn.

Come on I personally target tasty and easy fish to catch because I like to eat them. Catfish and crappie are always on my menu.

I don't know that drums get far enough inland to get to freshwater. Pretty much all I have caught have been in Turnbull Bay, Rose Bay, and the Halifax between New Smyrna Beach and Port Orange.

I thought you were talking about freshwater drum, not related to any of the saltwater variety. I've only ever caught the different saltwater varieties.

I've got ATR the last weekend of the month as well. So it would either have to be sometime this month or early Aug. Any of which I am good with. Hell all my fishing gear is still wrapped up from moving 2 yrs ago. I'd have to get it out and monkey around with it. Just getting out and paddling would be fun. Kerr Lake has some cool islands we can paddle to and camp on.

Oh, yeah, that is a sunfish looks like. Red and black drums are a good bit bigger. Not so great for eating, but a ton of fun to catch.
