Wait, what? Looking at the Toyota website, you can’t get a 2TR with a stick?

 

The Toyota salesman said I could.

 

Could just be a local area stock thing? I believe all stick 3rd gens have to be 4x4 though. Not sure if they killed the 4x4 4cyl or maybe just killed the stick option? That would be lame.

 

I hope it works out for them. My only hesitation would be spending that much money and being locked into a situation relying on support from one tuner who has his hands on so many other projects

 

Just talked to SCOL (Superchargers Online) which is Magnuson's authorized service center and tried to buy the rotors inside my supercharger to replace them. Was told the part is $950 but they can't sell it to me. I have to send them my supercharger and have the rotors replace by them...

Anyone know a way around this?

Nice. Hopefully they can help. I gathered info from them when troubleshooting and replacing my coupler. Ended up going with the Nylon one they sell/recommend.

 

They did the first rebuild on my supercharger. In fact, mine might have been the first they did, as I think most of their online pictures of our supercharger are of my unit. I really liked working with him. He's since gotten ALOT busier and I've had trouble with them responding to my emails. I'd still recommend and work with him again though, really good dude.

 

Did you have to send they unit or did they send you the parts to rebuild?

 

I think you can purchase rebuild kits directly, but I had them rebuild mine the first time. They also identified that my main shaft had gouges (possibly due to spring coupler failure? IDK) and they sleeved it for me. Haven't had any trouble since (95K miles now). I guess that means it's time again.....

So you mailed it to them and they sent it back right. I’m a little bit always from Iowa. Will try to call them later today. Getting some vibes after running with no intercooler coolant for who knows how long.

 

Yeah, mailed it to them. I rebuilt it just before heading down to the baja 1000, so I paid for upgraded shipping both ways, so that was a little pricey. With your location, that's probably not going to be too bad.

Also, not sure why lack of inter cooler fluid would cause supercharger vibrations, it would do more damage to your engine and piston ring lands....ask me how I know......Just a friendly reminder to check your inter cooler fluid and pump function regularly......
