Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
My brother in law and nephew came over today and we made this. It's an air rocket launcher. You make the rockets out of construction paper and launch. We saw it at a campground we visit and figured we'd build our own. So much fun for kids and adults alike!

Restored an old magazine rack into a end table with glass top recently. Pictures of old local landmarks are under the glass. Second image is of a pen and ink drawing I had done from one of those post cards last week.doodlebug kent 062.jpg alpha micron 018.jpg

Try making rockets out of 1 liter soda bottles! They go so far, I build these with my students at camp and launch them in a field nearby!

So I've watched several videos on aircrete and I almost couldnt believe that how that are doing this actually worked much less produce results like they claim but I just mixed up a small batch and it looked just like it does on the videos. I'm going more for the cost effective decorative purpose so I was gonna cuz my cement with sand anyway but wound up buying type n porter which is 1 part Portland cement: 1 part lime: 6 parts sand (about twice the sand I was gonna use but this is just some trial runs and it was half the price of a bag of straight Portland) skip to about 8:30 to see him start mixing the aircrete

It Freakin floats... This mix is pretty brittle so I have some tweaking to do but it is looking promising. This is also about 22 hours after it was poured; it may have benefited from another day but I dont think it would have been strong enough for my intentions. Got another batch I made with just less water in my slurry but about the same amount of foam to see if that will be any stronger tomorrow

Yes outside. Im planning on making forms from 8' 2x4 if this works and just scoring in some faux grout lines or laying something in the bottom of the forms so they look like individual bricks, but ill be able to knock out an 8' section at a time instead of an 8" section Ha Ha hopefully

Nothing fancy. Had to build some fillers for the sconces on the garage.

Would’ve been easier but had to rabbit the inside to go over the surface mount box.

Played a little more with this stuff. This is about 28"x6"x3"... Its still brittle but a little less that the first attempt and I used about 8lbs of mortar mix (to my best calculations without using a scale and basing the ratio of sand, cement, and lime density to the volume I used) so I guess this brick weighs about 8 lbs... Im not sure it will float but I may test it in a day or two when it fully cures. I think there is just way too much sand in this premixed stuff... Oh also I took a pencil and scored grout lines after I poured it to see how that worked and it aint too bad
