Because if you were to use the antenna wire, that means you would not have the AMP turned on if you were listening to the CD player or AUX input. I already stated that before in this thread.

Are you sure, my last three Pioneers have the antenna wire powered whenever the unit is on, not just the radio.

remote wire aka ignition wire is red. there is no difference between hooking your remote turn on wire to the truck or off the deck.

There is if you don't want the HU on, which means you probably don't want the amp on either. But some people do wire it that way and have been since I was a kid (that was a long time ago).

Then the wire was not truly an Antenna Power wire, it was a Remote Power On. On a factory car with a power antenna, does the antenna go down if you are listening to a CD? They do in all the cars I've had. I know many receivers I've had provided both outputs, one for the antenna, one for remote power on, of course some only had a single output which I honestly don't recall if it was an antenna only or remote power on, but likely the latter.

So based on your statement I looked at a few user manual for Pioneer and all of them [that I looked at] had a blue/white wire called Remote Turn-on and the diagram indicates it can be used for an amp or power antenna. So this means it's not a true antenna only power but it can be used that way of course.

But this thread was started to locate the factory HU remote power on signal, which I did find using a meter and trial and error.

    -Cheers
