Made the trip out to Lopez Island for the weekend. Super sweet spread of land over the water. First time using the RTT and it worked great.

I'm having trouble pegging that location. Is that north or south of Lake Crowley?

@Orco59 Definitely a crazy summer with all the late snow. This is Longs Peak Campground Rocky Mountain National Park (Colorado) this year opening day June 28.
Last night was a bit chilly, but the snow at the campground is melted. Peak of Twin Sisters in the background, elevation approx 13,000ft.

@Orco59 what campground were you at with all the snow? I'm trying to place the campground but the low clouds are hiding the mountains from view so I'm confused. We usually backpack in and camp in the back country but as I age it is getting a bit tougher:(

Ahhh That was my wife's guess. We've never camped on the west side but have driven through the campground to check it out. Too bad the beetle kill got to the trees and most were cut down. Hopefully Trail Ridge road was open for your trip back over.

It was a long weekend up here in Canada, so the wife and I got out and made the most of it.

    A few highlights.

She had a few struggles with the hills, but still managed to make most of the climbs.

No tent this year but will ease into it by taking some shots at prairie dogs, casting for large mouth in the local lake and doing some short overnight excursions. Here are pics. Sorry it took so long but happy to be alive. Drawers are still in process. Large drawer is back home partially finished but 2 collapsible crates fit in its spot nicely. Top drawer holds food, seasoning, and utensils. Bottom draw I built with pull out table/cutting board. Pic shows all that it holds. Two side boards are not hinged but provide access to additional storage for blankets, rain gear, chairs, fishing poles, etc. large compartment holds with all my fishing and hunting gear, or tent, toilet, hot water shower set up etc. I added a pic of what was inside of it for an idea of its capacity. Platform has a foam pad which is nice but I also have a low profile air mattress or 4” feathered bed if it’s cold outside.

Quick two day trip up to Flagstaff over the 4th. First time using the Softopper (love it!). Slept in the back on an Airbedz inflatable mattress. The mattress seems well made but I think I didn't inflate it enough, developed a leak in the middle of the night.

I'm going to try tenting next time out.

I love mine. Picked it up on Craigslist. Other than the loss of the rear view camera (which I will eventually reposition) and needing to relocate the license plate, the pros have outweighed the cons. I have a 92 fj80 landcruiser that it will work on as well. Just couldn’t afford the CBI that I wanted so this was a great solution. BTW I solved the license plate light issue by attaching an LED license plate light to my plate and then ran a four pin extension to my 7-4 pin adapter.D9046240-F36D-4274-82F0-AED684C1434C.jpg
