Well, I guess I at least added Weathertech side window and stone/bug hood deflectors plus floor mats. Other than those miniscule upgrades the truck is bone stock. Drove it off lot brand new November 2011. It's nothing more than a daily driver that comes in handy for my winter addiction of hunting, and every other year of filling bed with new mulch for the house. The 4wd is great for those snowy morning on my way to work before the snow plows get moving. Think I'll leave it be. Anyone else leave they're truck stock also?

    What do you consider stock?

I'm still stock for the most part.

I think I would consider it stock if only accessories like bed mat, floor mats, visors, seat covers, glove box organizers, etc.. are added. They don't change the performance of the truck. Things like shocks, wheels, larger tires, lighting, supercharger, headers, etc... These things all change the performance and handling characteristics and would be considered mods or upgrades in my book. But who's to say where to draw the line. Somewhere there is a blurred line. i.e. Swapping a grill for aftermarket doesn't change the performance but it's not stock.

Nothing wrong with a nice clean stock truck. There is also nothing wrong with a tastefully modded truck.

I'm suspect of the spotless, scratch free, 'overland' builds though.

After grandpa passes, you will want to buy his unmolested Stocker with low mileage.

I see plenty of Gen1 and Gen2 in this very condition.

Leaving it stock gets the most resale value. Modded trucks decreases the number of potential buyers who shy away from non-factory equipment with its associated problems.

Stock just means the motor isn't coming out unless it's to get a Yota diesel motor or a turbo 1J..that's what I tell the wife at least. Here's my stock POS:

WIN_20181103_163719.jpg Spend your money where it will bring you the most pleasure. I went with intermittent wipers, bed mat, wet okles seat covers, moved the trailer plug to the left license plate light, replaced the right license plate light with a bright led one. Replaced the back up bulbs with leds, bought a set of take-offs , since I was due for tires anyway , now I have winter and summer wheels.
Not much money, but I enjoy every one of my mods. I decided that when I get the itch for a new truck, I'll spend a payment or two and bring my truck back up to where I love her again. It's your truck, do what makes YOU happy!

Ah well. I have an ARB that came with the truck. I've painted some things, added a toolbox, and some bed lights. Stock otherwise (for now). Never saw the point in upgrading a PreRunner.

do what you want. Who cares what others think...but my .02, I'd never buy a capable 4WD to let it just sit in my driveway, and run errands...what a waste.

What matters is if it meets your needs. Sounds like it does.

Folks look down on my 5 lug. But it meets my needs. I've done a few comfort/functional related things, but for the most part only a Toyota nut would really notice them. And if I wanted to sell, they would not make a buyer suspect of how it was used.

    Yeah.

    I have an SR5 Prerunner.
It has what I wanted: power windows, intermittent wipers, cruise, foglights.
The previous owner put on visors and a tonneau, neither of which I would have done.
But I like them and consider them worthy additions.
The only thing I've done to it is put on seat covers.

And that's all I intend to do. :)
As the man said, it meets my needs.
